The cabins here are lovely , comfortable beds and serenely quiet. The one drawback though is our definition of bathroom nearby and theirs! I was fully aware that our bathroom was not in the cabin but nearby, this meant over a little bridge down a path past the communal kitchen and right next to someone elses room and outdoor sitting area. Going to the bathroom was not a private experience but rather an enforced social experience.
It is such a shame as the rest of the place is a beautiful peaceful experience.

Best place that we stayed in during our 3 weeks in both North and South Islands. Highly recommend the Hideaway hut, loved the over flowing garden shrubs and stream running through the conplex! Beautiful both day and night. I would highly recommend to anyone going to New Zealand for an authentic NZ stay.

We had a wonderful two-night stay at this lovely little hideaway. It's the perfect place to relax, has a beautiful location, and the host recommended some fantastic short walks nearby, which we loved. The rooms are cosy and charming and the shared kitchen is well-equipped and immaculately clean. Everything here has been done with care and attention. We would definitely stay again.

We spent two nights at the Happiness cabin and would definitely go back. The cabin was spotlessly clean and had everything we needed. Lovely peaceful vibe and Marilyn was very welcoming. She has a lot of knowledge about the area and gave us some great suggestions regarding activities, cafes etc. Awesome large bathroom with a wonderful HOT shower! Highly recommended.
