The Bays bed and Breakfast

Owner Shereen has created a lovely home with rooms that are tasteful and cosy. She is very welcoming.

Lovely place to stay in nice area with lovely view of Rangitoto. Beds were so comfortable and host really nice/ friendly. We will definitely stay again

The owner lives upstairs and is very welcoming. Provides complimentry breakfast. Property is clean, quiet & well maintained.

Not much privacy, overbearing host, waited for a while outside calling phone # and ringing bell but no answer. The room is okay but very dated. Should be cheaper; otherwise, I would not recommend it. But keep in mind I am very picky.

Location of the property was good & it was immaculate. The host was unusual to deal with . On arrival at 240pm we were directed from a third floor slightly open window of where & how to park. We could not see who was shouting down directions , this was an unusual welcome The host then came to the door a few minutes later & proceeded to sarcastically ask us to move the car slightly She then gave us a good tour of the property & we met the lovely cat Lucy. The bedroom was not air conditioned & we had to sleep with window open & got bitten by mozzies The seperate shared bathroom was very clean & the shower was very good . Breakfast was help yourself from a pantry cupboard of cereals & spreads for toast . Instant coffee & tea available to make your own The fridge has single tubs of yoghurt , milk & butter. The host did offer French toast too, which we declined , not sure if this upset her as we never saw her again after breakfast. All the produce was home brand basic & not from a more luxury range

Quiet. Hard to get into if achool hours. Very near school.

Watch the rules. Easy walk to beach. No shoes in house.

Have stayed before and, as always, rooms were comfortable, bathrooms luxurious and area very safe and quiet. Close to dining options and can easily take public transport into the city from the end of Kohi Road. Good value and very clean and beautiful house.

Only the executive suit had keys, which is a bit weird and not something I would rather go for again, especially in another country with all your personal belongings in that room

Shareen is an absolutely lovely host, kind & considerate & helpful. The home is gorgeous, and walkable to the ocean/beachfront which we loved. Very comfortable accommodations. The one less desirable aspect is that it's a B&B, and you would expect a decent breakfast. But The Bays breakfast option is toast & jams, some cereals, maybe a yogurt variety. Would have been nice to have a more rounded breakfast (eggs, fruits, juices for example) , especially when you choose a B&B specifically for the meal part.

A very accommodating host and beautiful property within a good location.

Check in was poor and there was an expectation that the guest would ring to confirm arrival. Breakfast was poor however the property was absolutely stunning. Concerned that the room was not lockable and unhappy that we were requested to remove our shoes on entering the property and leave by the entrance door. Perhaps a shoe rack with indoor slippers by the door would have helped.

Very clean and comfortable B&B. Owner requests that shoes be removed and no pork products may be cooked. It’s an easy walk from this residential neighborhood to the beach that has good restaurants.

Absolutely fantastic stay, in a very nice neighbourhood. Host could not have been more accommodating with a strong desire to make my stay as comfortable as possible. Neatness and cleanliness was beyond phenomenal!

Great clean facilities and good location. The host was lovely.

Sharpen made me feel truly at home - a quiet place near the centre of a large bustling city.

Shareen is absolutely lovely and very thoughtful to her guests. The guests were also very nice and we had very nice chats over breakfast. Would definitely book again.

Do not even think about staying at this property. I booked a week before then the host rang us when we were on the way to the property to say that we would have to pay an extra $25 because she thought Wotif was taking too much cut. We refused so she refused to honour the booking.
