Lovely quaint hotel with attention to details. We wanted a place in Makati that was not crowded and 1898 surpassed our expectations. Our family stayed for 3 nights. All of the staff were courteous and helpful. Would definitely stay here again.

Really nice lobby and hotel rooms appear to be very modern/upgraded recently.
Very friendly staff.
Note: this is in the redlight district, I was not familiar with the area and didn't see this in the reviews and only learned about it from a local. This didn't matter to us much, we basically stayed at the hotel or took a car to other locations.
We did go to the Filling Station - American style deli, that was a fun experience with decent & decently priced food.
Only negative - they only heat the jacuzzi when asked and even then it doesn't get to American standards of warm/hot.

雖然住宿環境有點吵雜，房間設備有些不足，游泳池有點小，飯店人員服務態度很棒～～這裡叫Grab 很容易，走遠一點可以到傳統市場和shopping mall，一樓有免費飲料可以喝，附近夜生活豐富，但飯店周遭的安全度也不錯。重點是雨季不會淹水!!!這很重要，因為我們遇上了凱米颱風，附近的縣市都淹水了，但這條大路地勢較高，沒有淹到，這在雨季是重點唷！

Bra mellanklass hotell. Bra service. Fin pool med jacuzzi, gym mm. Det dåliga är dock att mycket störningar från barer runt omkring de var öppna till 6-7am på morgonen.
Mycket störningar från korridoren dörrar som slog igen hela tiden inga gummilister på dörrarna så väldigt högljudda stängningar.

Good area if you’re looking to party with free lance workers. A lot of clubs around. I didn’t do enough research and had kids I highly don’t recommend with kids. As an adult if that’s what you indulge in it’ll be perfect for you. Definitely not kid friendly area.

Beautiful hotel close to everything in Makati. Comfortable rooms, nice bathroom ( shower could use a stronger water pressure) , delicious breakfast buffet and great customer service from the very friendly staff. A good hotel to book when in Manila.
