Greywalls Hotel and Chez Roux

The view of the golf course is beautiful. The diner was very good. Staff at the restaurant is very helpful Breakfast is a bit disappointing considering the standing of the establishment. Nothing bad but not fantastic. Also when we had supper, there is no price on the menu except for drinks. That was a bit disturbing. Finally, we arrived a bit early as we flew in from Canada. We were very tired but the room got ready only at 2:30pm, which is exactly the time when it is supposed to be ready. I cannot fault the establishment but I would have appreciated some gesture to expedite the readiness of the room. The room is very quiet, there is a nice old library and rhe garden is simply magnificent. All in all, it was a very good stay and a beautiful scenery. But I think a bit overpriced for what we got.

Room was spotless, super retro and cozy. Felt like I was a family guest of the manor estate.

Most wonderful property! Situated alongside the Muirfield golf course with lovely gardens and paths. Lovely dining options. A restful and exhilarating place to stay.

Excellent and tranquil place to stay. Got stranded Haddington and a member of staff (Andrew) came to pick us up.. so helpful and loved seeing the tortoises. Thank you for a lovely stay… The Mitchells.xx

The hotel and staff are amazing. A little quaint at first but that definitely grows on you. Tony the pianist was fantastic and played almost 5 hours solid with just a very short break. Reception area for check in/out is very odd like you are not sure you're doing things right. Breakfast was a major disappointment - the full Scottish was stingy in portion size (half a slice of bacon, skinny sausage and dry potato scone) and the guacamole for eggs benedict seemed shop bought. The room, gardens and surroundings were beautiful. Will come back but little areas to improve on.

A very comfortable stay and will return again

Ian welcomed us as if we were long lost friends. Could not have been better. The staff was accommodating on every item and the food was fantastic!

Beautiful, serene setting. Gorgeous accommodations, lovely staff & food.

Wonderful recent stay. Visited with our 4mth old baby and hotel staff could not have been more helpful and understanding. Cot was placed in room, we were situated in the corner of the restaurant with space for baby’s bassinet at dinner and the whole team were wonderful with assisting with bags etc. I called in advance to check if baby would be welcome in the dining room and was reassured that was fine. We dined a little earlier to try minimise disruption to other diners bur baby was ok and the team were again great. Dinner importantly was wonderful! As was breakfast! The room was a great size for travelling with a baby, and the bathroom looked recent refurbished. No fridges in the room, but hospitality trays with kettles available on request. The grounds were gorgeous - beautiful gardens which were lovely for a walk around.

Lovely hotel with traditional styling in a beautiful building with lovely gardens and views. We stayed here for one night following a celebratory meal for our daughter’s wedding. Staff were friendly and attentive and the food excellent. Our room was in the garden cottage with view out to the gardens. Really enjoyed the experience, thank you
