Great location, can see city center from balcony, big surprise. 24 hours snack + fruits, amazing. Staff are also very nice.

Vivian checked us in and was absolutely wonderful explaining everything. Food was available and included throughout the day. Rooms were very good size and clean. Patio area was excellent for relaxing with breakfast or a drink in the evening.

The breakfast buffet was good and rooms were clean and spacious. The bell boys were very friendly and reception staff were nice.

Very friendly hotel loved the little buffet they provided 3 times a day.

Very convenient

This is our second time here because we liked it so much for the location, staff and cleanliness. Hallway and building looks old but the rooms looks renovated and super clean. Along La Rambla with lots of dining and shopping options. 7 mins to Placa Catalunya where you can catch the aeroport bus. Metro is just a minute away. Next to the Gothic quarter and Barcelona Cathedral is few mins walk away. We loved the 24h buffet food with greens, cheese & cold cuts. Staff are great, we stored our luggage because we checked in early and they delivered them to the room once the room was ready. Highly recommend.

Loved the snackbar - made it so convenient to grab a soda after being out in the hot weather walking all day. All the staff are charming. Love the decor. My room was quiet so I got a good sleep. In fact, I checkout of hotel illunion to return to hotel continental for 5 more nights.

The staff were excellent but that does not distract from the fact that the building and decor is very tired and in need of significant refurbishment.

100% recommend as highly as we can!! From the charmingly appointed room (small, but normally sized for area) to the quaint balcony, and the generously provided breakfast and all day snacks, This was the perfect hotel for our first trip to Barcelona. Perfectly located along La Rambla across from the Catalunya Metro station, everything we want to see was an easy met ride away. La Rambla never sleeps, But the rooms are well insulated and we slept wonderfully. And since we were traveling from the US, We appreciated having the charming balcony to watch the activity below as we adjusted to the time difference. I cannot say enough about the wonderful service from the staff at this hotel! So helpful with information about the history of Barcelona, places to go for fun and for tapas, As well as assistance regarding the metro. Barcelona has a fantastic metro system, which we did not have any experience with where we are from... The staff at Hotel Continental helped us understand how it works, which really help us get comfortable using it!!! If you are looking for a hotel In Barcelona that is worth absolutely every penny (yet very competitively priced for the area), you should stop looking and reserve this one. They will take great care of you!!

We stayed for one night. Julia y Alex fueron excelente! Alex took care of our luggage before check in and was very helpful in answering all our questions.

great location, nice staff but old hotel

Good location, basic amenities which were fine but nothing particularly special. The 24 hour “buffet” is very basic and honestly unappealing most of the time given that the same food sits out all day long. Coffee, soda and beer was nice, but the wine was AWFUL.

I thoroughly enjoyed my stay. The staff were helpful and informative. The location was ideal being on La Rambla and near public transportation. It’s also not too far from the airport. I walked most places anywhere from 5 to 30minutes. The Barceloneta beach is about a 30minutes walk away or you can use the public bus which was great seeing as there is no pool on the facility. There is an all day buffet which was great so it made decisions about when or where to eat easier. I had a room with a balcony which was the icing on top of the cake, bc there is nothing like sitting on the balcony early morning or later in the evening and just looking over La Rambla as people walk by.

It is an older hotel, but our room was spotless. We stay there every year and it is always great. It is located in a very busy street, but the windows are sound proof. They have a cute outdoor space for eating, and a good selection of items to eat and drink, free of charge, 24/7. As I said, it is a very old hotel, but for me, a good for me. Centrally located for the restaurants I like to visit.

Frukostutbudet var begränsat och upplevdes som smaklöst, vilket även gällde maten som serverades under dagen. Sittplatserna, både inomhus och utomhus, var obekväma, med bristande stöd för ryggen. Entrén till hotellet präglades av en obehaglig lukt och förekomsten av kräkningar och piss. Hissarna delades med ett vandrarhem beläget två våningar upp. Rummet i sig var rent, och badrummet var i gott skick. Läget var dock utmärkt. Baserat på mina erfarenheter av frekventa resor, anser jag att det finns bättre alternativ till ett mer rimligt pris. Kvaliteten på mat och dryck motsvarade inte förväntningarna och ansågs inte vara prisvärd. Sammantaget är detta ett av de minst prisvärda hotellen jag har besökt.
