After traveling overnight from Canada with young children we were counting down the minutes until we could check in so we could relax and get settled.
When we arrived at the designated check in time (4pm) we were told that the key had been locked in our apartment, that it hadn't been cleaned yet and that the gentleman that provides the clean sheets hadn't arrived. The cleaning lady told us it would probably be a few hours until we would be able to get in since it was a Sunday night.
At the brink of exhaustion and after waiting 30-45min we went and found another place to stay (Le Petit Prince just off of La Rambla -which was wonderful).
I emailed Rambla De Mar Apartments as we were leaving and they responded an hour later saying the room was ready. By this time we were already settling our children for the night. No refund or help was offered in any way - we ended up paying for another place to stay in addition to this reservation.
In addition to above they have now tried to charge me for the tourist tax 2 months later. Currently disputing this with my credit card company since I paid it at the other property. I asked them to reserve the charge and they have not responded.

Be aware and cautious while staying here. I traveled and stayed here with family May 28-29th, only one night and all of our luggage was stolen from the property elevator. I have received $25 hotels.com credit and no further follow up. On August 18th the property charged $18.02 recurring charge which was unauthorized.

We had so many issues trying to pay the cash taxes. We asked the girl to come pick up the cash at 5ish when we checked in and she showed up at past 9pm, everyone was in bed (since we had a very early flight that day), the next day she came to pick up the money and didn't bring any type of receipt, she then asked me to walk to a partner hostel. I go to the hostel, they tell me that they don't have change, and they were not aware that I was going to pay and that it wasnt needed to go there, this could have been done via email this whole time. I go back to the lady, she says she no longer has change because she went to buy breakfast ;|
Anyway, it took like three days to coordinate, I finally gave her the money and the receipt came like 6 hrs. later via email.
