Overall, a very nice stay at Wave Crest. It’s an older property that’s not a traditional hotel as there is no bar/restaurant or lobby area. The room was a decent size with a nice view of the ocean. There was a Murphy queen size bed which is a little odd. Plus there is no air conditioning. The weather was fine for the dates we stayed, but I could see it getting very warm during summer months. They have their own parking lot and the parking is free. Location is very good as it’s a stone throw away from the ocean and only 1-2 blocks from the main strip in Del Mar.

The location is amazing but the property and particularly the units, is outdated.

Gorgeous location. Just feels a little rundown and terrible fencing up in front of the amazing view.

Really nice laid back environment that has beautiful landscaping. This property is on the bluffs next to a park and a 5 minute walk to good restaurants

Beautiful flowers very tropical walking to shopping, parking, The beach, it was just lovely.

Pleasant staff and hospitable. Responsive and quick with request. Great atmosphere with many spectacular sunsets.

Near the beach

Pros: very close to the del mar beach. Big condos. Helpful staff. They provide beach towels, which is a big plus. Cons: cleaning should be more regular. Currently they clean once a week.

Lovely place to stay, located in a great neighborhood. Quick 3 min stroll to the beach. Unit was extremely clean, came with everything one would need. Between the amenities and friendly onsite staff, we had a wonderful experience.

We loved our stay in Del Mar. the property is beautiful with the pool overlooking the ocean.

This was built in the 80s and they take extremely good care of the facility. They are in the process of update the units removing the old tile counter tops and replacing them with stone for example. My sister and brother in law were staying there when we were there and their unit had had a kitchen up date ours did not. But all in all you can’t beat the location so I’d recommend it to anyone who is going to Del Mar, CA.

The place is very nice, quiet and excellent location.

Friendly and quick check-in process. Easy parking with great access to the park and beach. Clean rooms. Plenty of gear to borrow from the front desk. Quiet and unobstructive staff. Great ocean views from the pool.

these appear to be timeshares because eachunit has a kitchen living room area and bedroom which is much nicer than a normal Motel

The location can't be beat, especially for the price - it's about a five minute walk to the beach and an even shorter walk to the restaurants of downtown Del Mar. The sound of the waves crashing at the pool is so relaxing...if it isn't filled with a bunch of young kids. The Murphy bed was reasonably comfortable. There is no AC so we slept with all of the windows open, which meant we were woken up by the sound of delivery trucks backing up on some mornings (the nearby train was surprisingly quiet comparatively!) We look forward to staying here again soon.
