Very welcoming staff; chef made steak pies especially for us as we didn't want the vegetarian or curry pies he was making.
Lovely big beeŕ garden with terrific views.
Only downside is the extremely tight entrance to the car park.

An outstanding stay for a group of 7 golfers playing at the nearby Monmouthshire golf course. The hotel is located centrally in the beautiful village of Crickhowell. The staff were amongst the best I have had dealings with, going out of their way to help. Due to an early tee time competition they came in half an hour early to serve us breakfast. The rooms were plush, clean and well maintained. I would definitely stay here again.

The team who served me were helpful and friendly. The guy who checked me in was efficient and really nice, so the procvess was quick but he made me feel very welcome. I had dinner and breakfast and enjoyed both.

Couldn’t shower due to the very low roof in the bathroom, and I hit my head on it. When I booked I was led to believe that a full breakfast was included in our tariff, and we were asked to pay if we wanted it. No fan in our stuffy room either

This is the second time that I have stayed at the Dragon Inn. Generally it has been good. The only dissapointing thing for me is that breakfast does not start until 8am, which for a work trip is getting a little too late. Also, the cooked breakfast is now an optional extra, whereas in 2024 it was included. The entrance to the car park is dreadful.

Spent two nights at the Dragon Inn, a base to visit the Hay book festival. In fairness the accommodation was more than acceptable, and comfortable. What was very disappointing was the staff attitude. A young team with no leadership, demonstrated poor customer service. The waitress chewing gum taking the order was most unwelcome. Food was over cooked and disappointing

Seems new owners have taken over since we last stayed. Some good changes, some bad. Room we stayed in seemed to have a make over which was good, breakfast disappointed with free toast and cereal but cooked breakfast now charged. The red haired girl that ran the restaurant seems to have gone and she was a real plus at this b and b.
But all the best with the venture to the new owners.

It’s a nice small inn for staying a couple of nights. The room must be recently renovated with a nice bathroom. The only surprise was that I booked with breakfast but the hotel only provided
a simple breakfast ; coffee and toast. Otherwise you need to pay extra. I wish they stayed more information on their booking information regarding the breakfast options. To me it’s a little bit too cheap for them to operate their business in this way.

Stayed for one night, had food in the restaurant which was lovely and the staff made me feel very welcome, which was reassuring especially as I was travelling on my own. Room was clean & tidy, got a good night sleep. Room had a kettle, hairdryer and iron, even a couple of complimentary biscuits which is always a nice touch. Would definitely stay again and use it as a base for exploring.

Amazing breakfast and great staff in a beautiful small town. Great overall value but having stayed more than once I’d recommend the room upgrade.
Other pubs walkable from the Dragon if you choose including one that shows sports just up the road.
Food, drink and the setting at the Dragon are wonderfully welcoming and comfortable on a cold night and of course, there’s a beer garden for the summer.

Four out of five for the staff because they sat around us chatting whilst we were having breakfast. It felt a little like we were in the way of their conversation.
Dined here on two evenings and one breakfast. Very good meals apart from a massively overpriced “cauliflower steak” - ordered out of curiosity but I should have asked first. It was just a roasted head of cauliflower… and not that big a one, either, but the price didn’t reflect this!
Very noisy at closing time and in the street outside.
