good location with friendly staff and so wondeful view of lake and hill,tyical north walse scenery

I don’t know how this is 4-star hotel. We had to carry our bags down a full flight of stairs, down a hallway to a lift, go up one floor on the lift, then carry the bags up a whole other flight of stairs. Room was stifling, no air, not even a fan. Original windows at least a hundred years old.

It was a really nice older property. The staff were all lovely and helpful, they had suggestions of where to go and what to see. The breakfast was really good and there was plenty of choice. The dining room, was roomy and had a great views. We had dinner there a couple of nights, although there wasn't a massive choice, we enjoyed what we ordered. The room was nice and clean, but a bit dated. It really is in a great location. Very easy for Anglesey.

Beautiful venue, set in uni grounds with great breakfast. Bathroom updated with walk in showers. Unfortunately the mattress dates back to the opening of the university in 1884 with every move resulting in springs creaking and popping and resulting in 2-3 hrs sleep.

Third time staying here. Perfect for visiting the University and the beautiful area. Rooms are clean and comfortable, staff are all friendly and helpful. Great breakfast, with Menai Strait views

The hotel is nice but getting a bit dated! On arrival, tried to have a hot shower but we told to ‘give it time’ to heat up on numerous occasions. It transpired they had an issue with the heating earlier in the day so it would take a while. It would have been good to been made aware of this before our stay in the morning to make other arrangements.

Friendly and helpful

Fantastiskt hotell i en historiskt intressant byggnad. Häftig utsikt från byggnaden Rummen är fina och fräscha. Det är positivt att renovering har gjorts med varsamhet, så att gamla detaljer bevarats. Vi är glada att vi valde detta hotell, då vi hamnade mitt i de intressantaste sevärdheterna i hela Bangor

We paid for the best room but found it disappointing in that there were no shampoo/body lotion/shower caps in the bathroom. The single beds were very narrow. Signs to the reception/bar and dining area were not there and the place was like a rabbit warren tracking them down. However, on the plus side, the room was kept scrupulously clean and the staff were very helpful and friendly. We appreciate it was part of the university.

Make no mistake, this is a university dorm turned BnB. Very old and a little creepy. Terrible night sleep, however breakfast was very good.

Great room, fantastic location, delicious breakfast. However a maze and bizarrely the breakfast room and bar have the same name, and located in completely different locations adding to confusion. Would definitely recommend and stay again.

Too many stairs. Stayed a week, towels changed but no sheet change, one day bed left unmade. Hardly 4* Bar lacked any atmosphere. Food ok but a choice of eggs at breakfast would have been good. (Scrambled eggs every day)

The surrounds are lovely and well kept. Our room (disabled) was very big, clean and had everything needed. Breakfasts and dinners were fresh, very well cooked and beautifully presented. The hotel complex has a ring of student accommodation and an old building that has been adapted. All in all it’s a very good base for sightseeing- especially Anglesey and the north west coast. Don’t expect luxury though.
