Mold in bathtub

I stayed at this hotel yesterday, and it was one of the worst hotel experiences I’ve had. The bathroom was dirty, and the bathtub was extremely slippery, which felt unsafe. The bed was old and made loud creaking noises every time I moved, making it difficult to get a good night’s sleep. The bed sheets also looked old and were not in good condition. Overall, the room felt poorly maintained, and cleanliness was below expectations. I would not recommend staying here based on my experience.

Decent

The hotel is old. I’ll start with that. It needs some TLC. Our room had chipped paint, dents and paint chips in all the furniture. The room was also very musty smelling. The office chair in our room was filthy. The bed was the hardest more uncomfortable bed I’ve ever slept in. The one great thing about the room was the view of the river valley. The staff was very kind. We upgraded to concierge level. I wouldn’t waste my money again. The lady working in the concierge for the evening was wonderful and so kind. But the limited drink menu, and just cheese and crackers wasn’t worth the money. Then for breakfast in am, the toast, already cooked and cold waffles, apples, oranges and yogurt wasn’t great at all. All in all, it was a total waste of money and I would never do that again. What I WOULD do is La Ronde! The rotating restaurant on the 24th floor. Food was amazing! Quite pricey but worth it!

Once a historical icon, now a convenient landmark. Super comfy bed. Staff is always polite. Some technical glitches occur from time to time (this not being my first visit here), but overall, the downtown convenience is tough to beat.

This used to be a nice hotel in a great location, but unfortunately, its glory days are long over. The hotel is visibly run down, furniture is banged up, walls and doors are chipped, bathrooms are stained and cannot be kept clean anymore from old age, heat/ac is noisy and works on and off, breakfast is terrible… the list goes on. My stay was too uncomfortable to repeat, at least until this property undergoes significant maintenance. I can no longer recommend this hotel.

Rooms were dark. No mini fridge. Ice maker is on certain floors not all. Rooms have a weird smell to them. Older building

I am a bit disappointed this time. I always stay in this hotel when in Edmonton. Same room with the same benefits. The hotel offers a room with breakfast included but I was charged for breakfast during checkout this time.

The staff made this hotel really stand out and shine. They are the most warm, accommodating and helpful staff you could ever meet and they made the stay extra memorable. From the gentleman who greeted me and my mom at the door, to the young gentleman who went above and beyond to accommodate my requests, to the restaurant staff who made the awesome meal even more special. I was really impressed. This hotel is lucky to have such amazing people running the show. The hotel is old but well-maintained and clean. Parking can be a bit tricky with the tight spiral and limited space but still ok given the location. Overall, highly recommended.
