We've stayed here twice because it's near family. It's clean but old and outdated -- needs better service.
PROS
*Near downtown, river, Gonzaga
*Reasonably priced
*Free parking/wifi
CONS
*Portico narrow and small for number of cars--couldn't get to the check-in, where they didn't have enough staff to handle the line.
*No bathroom fan! Switches just went to lights, so bathroom retained steam and smells after use.
*Few towel hooks -- had to hang towels over chair and suitcases.
*Shower fixture on ceiling: must be tall to change setting (luckily, we could reach to change it from MIST to a very slight stream ... no real pressure).
*Deep-pocket fitted sheet comes down only halfway on mattress, so the sheet kept coming off both beds during the night.
*Staff hadn't turned off clock alarm, which blared at 5:30 AM.
*Staff knocked to change towels by 9 AM, so next day, I put out do not disturb sign. But even though we left by 10 AM, no one came back. We stayed 3 nights, and no one reset the room.
*TV has no web connecting or casting. We hadn't seen a system in 5 years that doesn't allow Netflix access.
*Party in family area of hotel blasted music with heavy base until 9:30 one night.
*Non meat-eaters beware: due to the featured hotel BBQ, the entire front area and parking lot smell like cooked meat nearly all day.
