Excellent rooms and staff

Top, bis auf ein paar Kleinigkeiten

Wir hatten eine Deluxe Junior Suite gebucht und uns sehr auf diesen Aufenthalt im ersten Hotel am Platz gefreut. Beim Einchecken wurde uns anstelle des für uns reservierten Zimmers ein anderes Zimmer angeboten, da ersteres offenbar noch nicht fertig gereinigt war. Uns fiel auf, dass die Empfangsdame etwas herumdruckste und wir schöpften Verdacht, dass es sich bei der Zimmeralternative nicht um einen guten Deal für uns handeln würde. Daher sagten wir, dass wir gerne bis zur regulären Eincheckzeit um 15 Uhr warten würden. Die Dame sagte dann aber, das andere Zimmer sei auch gut etc. etc. - denn ich hatte eigens nachgefragt, ob das Zimmer den gleich schön sei - und so gaben wir schliesslich nach. Resultat: ein dunkles Innenhofzimmer mit kaputter Heizung (konstant 30 Grad), sowie permanent lauten Klopfgeräuschen im Badezimmer wie wenn ein neuer U-Bahn-Tunnel unter dem Hotel durchgebohrt würde. Wir reklamierten sofort und man versprach uns Abhilfe. Als wir um ca. 23 Uhr nach Shopping und Nachtessen ins Zimmer zurückkehrten, war es wie zuvor. Man hatte einfach die Fenster geöffnet, aber die Hitze blieb unverändert, ebenso die Geräuschkulisse. Als wir beim Auschecken die unzumutbaren Verhältnisse erneut bemängelten, zeigte sich die Rezeption zwar etwas betroffen, aber das war es dann auch schon - kein Wort der Entschuldigung, kein Versuch einer Wiedergutmachung. So schnell werden wir hier bestimmt nicht wieder eine Nacht verbringen.

Zimmer war toll

Des grands travaux de rénovation qui n ont pas été annoncés lors de la réservation Pour le prix par nuit 780€ sans petit déjeuner à 2 inacceptable….. le bar du soir fermé , 90% des clients mécontents…. On était un groupe de 60 personnes. Ceux qui ont réclamé à haute voix ils ont reçus 10% , ceux qui ont réclamé à un ton normal ils ont reçue des excuses verbales, vraiment plus jamais et pourtant ça fait 15 ans qu’on y est allé chaque année À déconseiller

The renovation works on lobby area are extensive and inconvenient. Entrance to hotel further along and via side door. Up a flight of stairs to a temporary reception. Took ages to check in. Room ok, but aircond fan noisy. Clean room. Small bathroom. Nightclub downstairs is ok. Live music. How this was still £400 for one night stay I am unsure. The works finish before Christmas, they said. I have an office in Munich. Here once a month or 6 weeks. I’m back in Munich in two weeks but won’t be staying here ‘til 2026. Even then I’ll be checking prices.

Unfortunately the 1st hour we found ourselves, in our hotel bathroom which, flooded. Not exactly sure where the water was coming from but at one point the smell was a bit putrid. Clearly the issue had been overlooked as the hallway carpet was pre stained prior to us. The issue was discovered whilst walking in the bathroom. A minor slip happened which at the time luckily didn't result in a serious injury but later we discover a muscle must have been pulled while I caught myself from not hitting the ground. I spoke of this to the employee who moved us to another room. He apologized, mentioned he’d let the manager know and thats the last we heard from anyone about our inconvenience. It’s not the problem but how you deal with it and they didn’t. I dont have many positive things to recommend about this hotel but I’ll try. The rooftop bar is lovely, with a good selection of drinks, food and a scenic view plus it had a relaxing decor. The pool and spa area was a lovely, clean, well appointed area but it’s a bit unclear how to get to all the amenities. The reception was under construction and because of Octoberfest the lines were hectic, the staff felt stressed, it wasn’t a 5 star check in. It didn't help that after our stay here we went to Hotel Sacher Salzburg where the room cost less, the service was unforgettably incredible, the room adorable, straight out of a magazine.

I am a frequent customer at Bayerischer Hof and I am actually a fan of the hotel. This time the experience was terrible. The hotel is a refurbishment site (lobby etc.) and the room in the appendix that I had (the old facility) is not worth 3 stars (not even the minimum standards like tidyness etc.) are fulfilled. Therefore it is massively overpriced at these rates and I can only warn future customers unfortunately!

Staying at a hotel of the Leading Hotels of the World group never disappoints. Bayerischer Hof is no exception and is one of their Crown Jewels. Perfect location, spacious, luxurious rooms, focus on details and impeccable service are the reasons why it’s my first choice when staying in Munich

The Blue Spa has the best Masseuse I have ever enjoyed Sinan Incredible breakfast Beautiful area. Cannot be beat

The Hotel is magnificent, The service is also excellent. However construction is an obstacle at the moment and a bit difficult to navigate the Hotel, which is huge. We got lost several times inside of the Hotel! I'm sure we saw parts of the Hotel we would never have known about as a result, so that's the upside. It's very beautiful, elegant and well worth it.

Over priced hotel - stayed one night pre cruise(recommended by company) nearly $1000 - with no breakfast included - close to Munich old part of town - but am sure there will be cheaper hotels than this around. Check in patchy room not ready - understandable but when went at post 3pm time told too busy now to show you around and to the room - not what you’d expect for price paid. Concierge very helpful with cruise pick up communication issues on both days. Hotel food extortionate $60 for Club sandwich - room lovely - as it should be for price.

Great location and friendly staff. Room was a nice size but decor is unattractive and tired looking.

The BH is an institution in Munich, however I was disappointed by my last visit for few aspects. To begin with, due to the on-going refurbishment, the check in and the entry lobby located on the first floor was rather a convoluted exercise. Also the staff wasn’t that attentive for an hotel of such lineage. It is a shame as I have fond memories of this hotel just few years back. I will wait for the renovation to be completed and will stay again.
