Very beautiful hotel. Staff are friendly. Food are great.

The location is very handy if looking for a short stay near the M6. The hotel is reasonably large and caters for casual visitors as well as hotel guys given it's location next to water. Accordingly, the bar areas can be quite busy. The rooms were clean, a decent size and the beds extremely large and comfortable. The food in the restaurant was tasty and well presented and the service attentive without being intrusive. The Hotel prices were higher than some but still felt it was reasonable value for the quality of the food and the level of service provided. Definitely a good spot for a break from travelling .

The varied breakfast menu that is published on the Hotel website, which (as regular guests) we expect and have come to enjoy, was seemingly not available. This had been replaced by (the all too familiar ) buffet arrangement of the full English "fry up" breakfast, kept warm - This was disappointing. Since on booking in, we were neither made aware to this deviation from the published menu. Nor made aware of any other alternatives to what the kitchen might be prepared to do for guests. Eg (1) Poached rather than fried eggs. (My wife is digestive intolerant to fried foods) (2) The alternative vegan breakfast. But in saying this the "Fry up" buffet breakfast food (although restricted in choice) was passible ! Service- After sitting at a table for some time, we had to catch a member of staff "In passing" to ask for tea and toast. Not the "Way of working" we might expect of this hotel with guests. But has happened in the past . But overall, this "Breakfast "experience does not detract from the quality & standard of the hotel rooms & facilities, the quality and standard of the dinner food menu and (most importantly )the excellent /attentive standard of service in the restaurant from all the staff.

A lovely room, situated beside a canal, with narrow boats passing by. The whole area of the hotel in an attractive setting to sitwith a drink outside by a small lake. Food good as was breakfast. All this just a mile or two off the M6.

Breakfast was a buffet breakfast. I prefer a freshly cooked breakfast. All the staff were fantastic. Would definitely recommend

At telephone beforehand and on arrival all staff were very pleasant, warm, friendly and helpful. Room was fine and air con a welcome surprise. Dinner in restaurant was excellent. Breakfast was good but not perhaps as good as dinner. Grounds all very attractive but walking around, particularly at the rear, we did notice some litter and areas in need of attention. Overall an enjoyable visit and in my view competitively priced.

Such a beautiful hotel with hidden old features, yet the rooms are very modern ! Air conditioning in the room and EV charging points- one don’t work but the staff were super keen to resolve the situation! Really couldn’t fault them . food was amazing, location so tranquil yet 15 minutes from Stafford city centre- will definitely stay again !!

First time we have stayed in this hotel after a long boat trip from Belfast. A lovely Hotel set in Amazing grounds. The hotel is well maintained and the choice of evening meals were great also. There was a Prom Party going on when we arrived at the hotel and was noisy, but when you ventured into the restaurant there was no noise at all. The bed was too soft for myself but my wife loved it. The only area of concern is the breakfast meal. There needs to be a bit more care and attention to detail on this. It was self service but when we got there, there was not a lot of food left at the time. The staff need to check this on a regular basis and top up where necessary. If you wanted toast then you had to ask for some when you are at the table and whilst waiting for the toast my wife's bacon and eggs were getting colder even on a hot plate. Other than that i would thoroughly recommend this hotel and I will be going back to it in the near future as it is a great halfway stop back down to London the next day.

This is a quality 4 star hotel. Despite there being a large evening function the service was unaffected. Excellent food. Not disturbed by the lateness of the function.

Another fantastic stay at Moat House for my parents, who simply won't stay anywhere else when they're visiting the area! The whole team were phenomenal from start to finish. Apologies that we didn't manage to get everyone's names, but Hannah on reception was amazing at check-in, and Kirsty was excellent at check-out. The bar, restaurant and food service teams were all incredibly friendly and welcoming, making guests feel genuinely valued throughout their stay. A special mention also to the young gentleman in the restaurant, who was exceptionally polite and professional, and to the young lady serving food in the bar area. We understand she's fairly new, but she serves customers with such pride and enthusiasm that you'd think it was her own business. It's wonderful to see the Lewis Partnership adding her talents to an already outstanding team. As always, the surroundings are beautiful, with stunning wildlife and a wonderfully relaxing atmosphere. The Sunday roast was delicious, and the breakfast was simply divine – only surpassed by the exceptional customer service. We're also looking forward to visiting the Dog & Doublet, another property within the same group and conveniently located nearby. We visit Moat House ourselves whenever we want to relax, and my parents genuinely won't consider staying anywhere else when they're in town. That's probably the highest compliment we can give. Truly one of the best hospitality experiences around. Thank you to the entire team!

Lovely hotel and the room and food was very nice. The staff were also very helpful. There was a prom taking place during our stay so parking and using the facilities was limited during the evening . We could have used the area outside to sit and eat as intended but it was just too busy and noisy for us with the parents and students gathered outside.

Staff were professional and friendly upon check in. Family room was a great size. Lovely grounds in a lovely little village

Beautiful setting near a canal, room was lovely a huge bed! Slept really well, staff so friendly and welcoming. Food was lovely in the restaurant staff very helpful, definitely be going back there and recommend to my friends.
