It a lovely hotel

Mediocre service by smug reception clerk. Truly aweful breakfast,no fruit, no yogurt (“the delivery didn’t turn up” - you’re 40 metres from Sainsbury’s!). A a coffee from “the machine” is extra. Bacon cooked to death the evening before. And surely scrambled egg is lesson one at catering college. A miserable experience. Never again.

That staff are lovely. The location and the property are perfect.

Everything was fine for the cost

This historic inn was clean and not too fancy. The location is great for exploring Thame. It’s also part of the Midsomer Murders” tour which was fun. Breakfast - made to order- was excellent and plentiful. We’d stay here again.

This was my second stay. The staff is friendly, room was clean and parking affordable.

The food was very good and the staff excellent.

Hotel is very tired and grubby. Ate dinner at night and the pie was still frozen in the middle. Great location though and friendly staff

Clean room, but like the rest of the hotel , it’s a little tired , could do with an upgrade But for convenience in the town , it was good Stayed there a few times

Spacious bedroom which was nicely designed. Good breakfast. Only complaint is that the shower is poor - 1mm difference between a burnt scalp and an ice bath. Also, FYI, shampoo provided but no conditioner.

Absolutely beautiful place beautiful room the food was excellent and the service was excellent

Room was cosy (read small) but clean and comfortable, the person who did the floor tiles in the bathroom needs a telling off for putting the tiles directly on the floorboards, with at least 3 of them cracked and moving about.

Room was shabby but passable -very clean. It was very loud with a cacophony of noise from people & baggage (covered passageway with cobbles & people not realising that there were bedrooms right there). The main issue was that the shower was TERRIBLE! Lack of pressure and no temperature regulation. It was my first day on a job & I had to have a bath instead of a shower, to clean myself.

Lovely large warm room. Bed was very comfy, had all you expect in a hotel room. The only criticism was the shower not very powerful, but thats all.

Shower didn't work for either of the days that I stayed at the hotel, no room change offered and least you would expect is a working shower.

Dinner was overpriced and arrived cold. £25 for a single cold stuffed mushroom and a lasagne that arrived stone cold in the middle. Hot breakfast was poor. The sausage had obviously been cooked earlier and left in the fridge. (And not re-heated properly). My room had an adjoining door that would not lock on my side. Had to wedge a chair under the door handle.

Room was dated with windows leaking water. Temperature was very cold too.

Unique property but not even remotely luxurious. Clean and spacious but sparse. Uncomfortable furniture in the sitting room. Poor lighting throughout (especially the bathroom). Friendly staff. If you are looking for anything more than a 2.5 star experience look elsewhere. If you don’t care about comfort and want a great location this is for you
