Great hotel for families. Pool area amazing. Food was lovely. Our only complaint would be the lack of air conditioning in the rooms which was problematic as we went in summer.

The Belfry trades heavily on its famous name, but the experience doesn’t justify the premium price. My room was clean but very dated, with no air conditioning and only a noisy fan that made sleeping difficult even before the real issue started. The biggest disappointment was the late-night noise. Guests drinking on the terraces created a constant level of shouting and disturbance that was completely at odds with what you’d expect from a luxury golf resort. I booked expecting a peaceful night overlooking one of Britain’s most famous golf courses. Instead, it felt like staying above a busy pub on a Saturday night. Food was average, drinks expensive, and the service lacked the warmth you’d expect from a hotel at this price point. There is undoubtedly a great hotel hidden somewhere inside The Belfry, but it currently feels as though its reputation is doing far more work than its hospitality. We stayed during the recent heatwave, and unfortunately the bedrooms did not have air conditioning, which made our stay quite uncomfortable. We were initially provided with a Dyson fan, but it wasn’t working properly. After reporting this, it was replaced with two small desk fans, which we appreciated, but they still weren’t enough to keep the room cool. Breakfast was okay overall, but I was disappointed by the lack of inclusive options. If you don’t eat pork, there were no alternative meat choices available, which felt quite limiting. I had very high expectations for The Belfry, especially given its reputation and the cost of staying there. Sadly, the experience didn’t live up to those expectations. For the price of a one-night stay, I believe there is significant room for improvement when it comes to guest comfort and the overall customer experience. Unfortunately, based on this experience, I won’t be returning.

The room was awful. Basic, no view, next to a boiler that made so much noise. Overpriced today the least.

Really lovely room, actually moved us as we had a 4 month old baby and our original room was too hot. So we were moved to a room with doors to outside we could open. Staff were really helpful and friendly. Swimming pool perfect for our toddler to use and playground too. Will definitely be back

Great historic hotel, but too many items where this hotel does not match the price you pay pppn when compared to similar hotels in this price category. Spa - hotel guests have to pay a £40/55pp to use the spa facilities which includes the fire and ice experience. When booking in at the spa you also have to purchase the towelling slippers unless you have your own flip flops. Equivalent hotels include their spas and towelling robes /footwear in the overall price at this price point. The Club - this pool and outdoor jacuzzi . Steam and sauna is included in the price but this is a child friendly pool with slides and splash area so cannot be considered spa equivalent. Bedrooms - have lovely linen and ESPA toiletries but should also have hand cream, and the bathroom essentials such as cotton wool buds, shower hat etc. The Ryder Restaurant This is ok if you like pile them high buffets. However as a gluten free pescatarian, for the price there were no dishes I could eat for dinner so I picked the 1 dish I could have from the ala carte on our first night meaning on night two we had to leave the complex to find alternate food. For breakfast the only items I could eat were the mushrooms, tomatoes and hash browns from the hot counter (as I do not eat diary or eggs as well as meat) and the cold counter was mainly meat based so had some fruit. No gluten free pastries, no gluten free meat free sausages (the gluten free had meat and the vegetarian had gluten). Disappointing :-(

Rio was very old. Moved out of first room. Loud generator outside window and wood round lock was broken as if door had been forced. Staff helpful and changed room but had a single bed and mattress was about a foot higher on one side than the other. Not a good night sleep. Was surprised how old rooms were.

This is an excellent hotel with all the facilities. The staff are incredibly attentive and made my stay a pleasure.

The bed was so confortable. Shower good. Plugs under a mirror above the dressing table, fantastic. Great breakfast, lots of choice. Coukdbt fault the stay at all. Will definitely be back!

TERRIBLE NIGHT'S SLEEP Underage drinkers playing mini golf at 1:20 am outside my room, and had to phone security twice. As well as this, the walls are paper thin, and could hear conversations in the room next door as well as them urinating. Talked to the assistant manager, and was offer a £12.39 refund - absolutely terrible.

Reception Check-in and porter to room very effecient. No O2 mobile phone signal in room. Room size compact. Described as "Superior King", but on entry definitely small and UK "King", ie:- 5ft. wide, not what I was expecting, ie:- 6ft wide. Bathroom not properly cleaned with dirt around bottom of shower screen and black mould on back of door and bottom of door frame rotten and black mould. Bench seating in restraunt had worn out PVC covered cusghions with some of the PVC covering missing. Food for Dinner and Breakfast satisfactory with poor service.
