My most recent experience at this hotel was awful. I booked and paid through Expedia, but when I arrived to check in, the person at the front desk immediately said “no locals” in a rude and dismissive tone. If this hotel refuses local guests, that policy should be clearly stated on both Expedia and the hotel’s own website before anyone books and pays. Taking someone’s money and then surprising them at check-in with an undisclosed policy is unacceptable.
When I explained that I had already paid and had not seen this policy listed on Expedia or the hotel’s website, she continued to be rude. She also asked, “Why are you staying here?” in a judgmental and intrusive way, as if I had to justify booking a room I already paid for.
She also took IDs from everyone in our group, even though we were all over 18. I understand hotels may require identification, but combined with the “no locals” comment, the questioning, and her attitude, it felt like we were being singled out and treated with suspicion before we had even checked in.
It was insulting to be treated like we were automatically going to damage the property or cause noise complaints simply because we were local adults. I have stayed here before and had a pleasant experience, but this visit completely changed my opinion. The customer service was terrible, the front desk attitude was unacceptable, and the way we were treated made us feel unwelcome and discriminated against.
