We really liked our stay here. The staff were all really friendly and helpful. We enjoyed our meal in the restaurant, and our dog was made to feel welcome too. The hotel is a beautiful building, and our room was a good size, clean, and comfortable. You could hear noise from neighbours, but not too late. Despite there being plenty of space in the car park, both spaces for the EV chargers were taken by ICE cars. I was able to speak with one driver who did move their car so we were able to charge, but the hotel could do with marking the bays clearly with road markings and signs to help avoid this.

Had a very pleasant stay. Food was delicious with a good selection for vegetarians of which I am one!Room very clean and comfortable. Very friendly and helpful staff. Would stay there again.

Set in a lovely location. Plenty of free parking. Room was fine,with a clean king bed and a decent bathroom. Breakfast was average -if you are veggie you can request veggie sausages. They definitely need a coffe machine -restaurant coffee not good and tea via water from an urn. Service was fine though. Evening meal was average but expensive -convenient though. Fish and chips OK,my veggie burger not brilliant,chicken dish average,steak pie was good but vegetables lukewarm. I’d recommend a stay here. It’s nowhere near bad as some reviews and I think it good value overall. For a good meal,go to Bayleaf in the village. Drinks also better value with a quick walk to Bollington.

I arrived late evening, stayed for business, just an overnight visit, I didn’t eat there or use any facilities. On arrival I was impressed at the entrance building, which is grand and imposing, but not ostentatious, the bar and restaurant areas also looked welcoming. Unfortunately my room was in an annexe out the back through the restaurant, where the decor quality seemed to take a downward turn. The corridor and room were clean and tidy, but the decor was just very tired and bland, room facilities very basic, but comfortable enough. Not sure how warm the single glazed windows would be in winter (didn’t close properly either!). If I’d booked for a personal breakaway based off the main house photos I’d have been very disappointed. Maybe it’s not meant for business travellers, but it just felt like it had seen better days. On the plus side if you’re there for the countryside the location looked great.

We stayed in the Davenport suite.Lovely big comfortable bed with beautiful white crisp sheets and big soft towels.The two young ladies in the restaurant were superb,very helpful,courteous and professional.Lovely setting but thought the grounds could do with a little bit of attention.Would definitely stay again.

So, imagine you enter the room and the first thing you can see right in front of you is empty package and wrapped sanitary towel in toilet paper. Then you get the slight hint of mould and when you enter the bathroom, the shower wall and ceiling is mouldy. I would say either there is no oversight from management or has this been a big joke? The bed is comfortable and the duvet were clean. Otherwise I would have done what my 10 years old son requested - mummy, let’s ask for a refund!

Overall a nice property. Couple of minor niggles, there were marks on the bathroom wall and the view from the room across the back of the property could have been tidier (understand that it was a view of the back of other parts of the hotel but the walls could have been cleaner and less debris on the roof).

For the price, it is an excellent hotel stay. Staff polite and very helpful. The only con would be, in the heatwave we are having, having A/C or at least room fans would have been helpful. Otherwise, excellent stay.

The grounds and building are lovely. The staff very friendly. Breakfast was great with a good selection. Perhaps have fans available for air circulation, room was rather warm due to hot weather.

No air con and the hotel is in serious need of a refurb.

The room was very good, the staff on reception and at dinner were more than helpful, the choices at breakfast were very substantial. In all our stay was lovely

Avoid Mouldy rooms and unclean properly staff nice and try hard but hotel wa not in to modern standards

The food both at Breakfast and Dinner was excellent. It was well presented and very tasty. The decor suited the style of building. The only issue we had were fixtures in our en suite bathroom. There wasn't a seal under the shower screen where it touched the bath which meant the bathroom floor was flooded after every shower. The sink tap was loose so it had to be held when turning on. The plug in the sink would not hold water in. The towel rail did not heat up at all.

The staff were friendly and supportive. The room was clean and tidy The extractor fan in the bathroom was not working. Everything else was really good. The room service was great. The staff were excellent. Highly recommended to all.

Attractive building but inside needed a good clean a lot of cobwebs. Shower was awful cold one minute then hot. Smoke detector flashed throughout night. Staff were friendly and food good.

It was like a cheap luxurious stay!

there was no air con in any of the rooms and our stay was during a heatwave so the rooms were very, very uncomfortable and sleeping was practically impossible. its unacceptable these days to have hotels rooms without aircon some of the bathrooms unfortunately hadn't been cleaned properly - we found numerous bodily hairs in the bathroom. not very pleasant

Excellent value for money, friendly helpful staff, lovely location in Kerridge, characterful main building, good low cost buffet breakfast. Bathrooms ready for refurbishment but low rates reflect that this is not 5* deluxe establishment.
