We stayed for one night in a family room. The hotel’s location is excellent, and the property appeared clean and well maintained throughout. The staff were polite, friendly, and very helpful. There is an APCOA car park on site, and the hotel provides complimentary parking there, which was a great bonus. We didn’t have breakfast at the hotel, so we can’t comment on the food. We visited during an unusually hot week and were allocated a room on the top floor. As there is no air conditioning, the room became quite warm, and we definitely felt its absence. With increasingly hot summers, air conditioning—particularly in the top-floor rooms—would be a valuable addition for guests’ comfort. A table fan was provided, although it was quite dusty when it arrived. After I mentioned this to reception, the staff cleaned it promptly, which we appreciated.

Good location.... facilities excellent

We stayed in this hotel for an afternoon but had to cancel booking due to unforeseen circumstances. The staff were so understanding and accommodating and went above and beyond. The room we booked was perfect and the lunch we had with the incredible Shannon views was fantastic. A pity we couldn't appreciate the hotel for longer. Will be back.

Raddison Blue in Athlone is near the river. I captured sunset photos with a walkable bridge near the hotel. The hotel room has a room safe for your valuables. Once, I reached Athlone by train, I chose to walk to the hotel.

We enjoyed the very large family room with bunk beds. The location of hotel we great right along the river. The staff was very helpful.

We recently stayed at the Radisson Blu Athlone and had a mixed experience. On the positive side, the property is lovely, the rooms are clean and spacious, and the location is excellent. The staff were courteous and helpful throughout our stay. However, our biggest disappointment was that the hotel is simply not equipped for warm summer weather. At €250 per room per night (we had booked three rooms), we expected air conditioning as a standard amenity. Unfortunately, there was no AC, and when we asked for a table fan, we were told the hotel had run out. To make matters worse, the windows only open slightly for safety reasons, so there was almost no airflow or ventilation. The rooms became unbearably hot, and some of us could get to sleep until around 3–4 a.m. There was also a wedding taking place during our stay, and the music and noise continued late into the night, making it even harder to rest. Overall, it's a beautiful hotel with great staff and facilities, but if you're visiting during the summer or are a light sleeper, be aware that the lack of air conditioning and limited ventilation can significantly impact your stay. At this price point, I would expect better temperature control and sound management.

Property was clean and comfortable, staff were helpful and friendly, which is something that I believe is important. Food was very good and breakfast was excellent.

Close downtown to the core everything was walkable. I didn’t drive my car for two days and went on a cruise down to the Shannon River that was fun too and the oldest bar in Ireland 900 A.D. Sean‘s also went to a casino that was a hoot old style machines and a few new ones I actually won money. Great food choices and numerous cafes The breakfast included was stellar lots of variety and great coffee and juice too 5 star 🌟 out of 5 highly recommended

Small room. Stuffy. Tiny bathroom. Shower wouldn’t drain.

The staff were kind and helpful. The facility could use some updating specially the restroom and air-conditioning would be nice. The telephone did not work in our room.

Great location, very clean and staff friendly and helpful, pillows and beds very soft not enough support for a good night sleep if you have back or hip issues, room was nice with a beautiful view, restaurant had good food and service. Overall would stay here again but ask for extra bed pad to make a little firmer.

Super location in Athlone, received an upgrade to a suite with a fine view too! Comfortable bed and good breakfast. Great idea to reward eco-awareness to not have towels refreshed every day but I never got to use my voucher. The bar/restaurant deal was a bit confusing as I wasn’t aware that everything was all served in what appeared to be the restaurant. A separate bar for drinks and chatting would have been nice. The staff were super-friendly so I probably should have asked! Still loved my stay there and look forward to coming back.

Unable to control the weather (very hot!) but brought fans up immediately made it better!

Clean and comfy room . Receptionist is very friendly. We are not happy with Amenities like pool, sauna and steam room (stinky) even changing area needs improvement. Food was ok. Old lady at the breakfast restaurant need to be more approachable and friendly,
