The Montvale was/is a nice find. It’s at the edge of downtown, on a quiet street. Recently renovated, the quasi-Victorian colors can skew a bit pink, but stepping out of the elevator into the lovely atrium is a treat. There are comfortable seats to lounge in with friends and soak up the mellow atmosphere.
The staff are friendly and happy to help: we had a couple of packages delivered there, and they were waiting for us at check in.
The car park is not big enough, and is first come, first park. That said, legal street parking is easy, and pretty cheap.
We brought our old greyhound and had to sign a very stern document (and pay a fee) to get her in, but after that there was no fuss. Grass is at a premium in the town center - but the waterfront park and trail is close, and lovely.
