From check in this stay was highly disappointing. We arrived at 2:53pm since check in was supposedly at 3:00. The girl at the front desk was incredibly unhelpful. She told me our room wasn’t ready. No apology, just it’s not ready. I asked if my kids could swim in the pool while we waited. She said no and giggled as though it was an absurd question. We waited in the lobby until 3:30 and by that point a new person was at the counter and she was downright rude. I asked if check in was at 3 and she said “just because check in is at 3 doesn’t mean we have to have the room ready then”. Maybe it’s my misunderstanding but I thought that was exactly what check in time meant, that is the expectation I have when I book a room and make plans. She also stated that checkout time is flexible. And this is where the problem lies. If you don’t require guests to check out by noon, the rooms won’t be ready for the next guest by the stated check IN time.
When we got to the room there was an overpowering mildew smell. The air conditioner was super loud. Later that evening we realized the air conditioner was leaking and the floor was wet. After the difficulty we had checking in we did not want any further contact with the front desk, so we threw a towel down.
The pool heater was also broken so the water was freezing.
