Our room had a broken shower door and couldn't be closed. Complaint to reception moved us to another room a bit bigger. This room was badly in need of renovation and the toilet took ages to fill. At 3am in the morning the room phone rang, it woke us up but there was no answer. After going out for the day on our return the room phone was ringing again, again no one there. On replacing the receiver it rang again and wouldn't stop ringing!!. I complained but no one came to fix it and as a result I disconnected the phone. Breakfast was good but beer selection at the bar was quite poor, lots of cocktails in a happy hour 2 for 1 but expensive and used poor quality spirits. Overall we won't return to this hotel.

Exceptional overall

The room was clean and reasonably decorated. The staff were welcoming and polite. The breakfast was good. There is no evening restaurant but this is not a problem as there are a large number of restaurants a short walk away. The hotel is well situated for all the towns attractions but benefits for being just off the High Street (which can be very busy). Would definitely recommend and wouldn’t hesitate to use again.

There was no AC in the room and it was very hot. We paid for a family suite and our children shared a fold out sofa bed which was very uncomfortable. Also we were surprised there was no fridge in the room for cold water. The breakfast was very good though and the staff were friendly and helpful

Room unbearably hot and moved twice to no better. Absolutely horrendous uncomfortable night's sleep. I know this is an old building where air conditioning cannot be installed but no excuse for portable air conditioning units not being available when absolutely needed, especially for the extortionate price. I know bad timing with World Cup but absolutely no mention of hotel being next to noisy pub where annex rooms are next to and above beer garden. Absolutely hated our night at The Falstaff Hotel prior to getting the Le Shuttle train to Calais.

Nice hotel and friendly staff. Unfortunately, it lacked air conditioning and it was very hot while we stayed.

Fantastic place to stay. Rooms are lovely, beds amazingly comfortable and huge! Staff were fantastic, Alexandra and Jack were incredibly friendly and helpful. The breakfast Benedict was delicious and the hotel and dining room very tasteful. Even the music played was good. I cannot fault this place and will most definitely recommend it to anyone going to Canterbury. Really, really excellent.

A lovely two night stay at this great hotel so near to everything the only negative and this was my fault I asked for a high floor in this horrific heat which is what I got the only problem it was second floor do in the eaves of the building and it was extremely hot. That was the only negative but again that was my fault! Breakfast was good buffet style and then we ordered hot food from the menu. Staff were very helpful would definitely recommend if visiting Canterbury

God morgenmad og fint værelse. Lidt udfordringer med kommunikation med personalet. Vi brugte meget lang tid på at finde ud af, hvordan man kunne betale for hotellets parkering med en international telefon (app og telefonnummer virker ikke, brug hjemmesiden), før vi til sidst fik den rigtige hjælp. Vi fik også forkert/uklar besked om deres happy hour, hvilket gjorde, at vi endte med at betale fuld pris på trods af, at vi var 10 minutter uden for tidsrummet og helt tydeligt havde misforstået receptionen/bartenderen. Det var små ting, men nok til at helhedsoplevelsen af hotellets service ikke var rigtig god.

Super clean, nicely furnished, air conditioned room. Was pretty COZY, as per the name. But it served our needs purposes perfectly. Very good Central location woth easy parking (even if a little pricey).

Excellent location for exploring the city, lovely room just a little dark with limited window. Plenty of car parking which is paid for using the RingGo app £15 per day though! There is a happy hour in the bar, great value if you have cocktails. Fabulous breakfast, for dinner there is lots of choice within walking distance.

Only negative to staying here was no A/C..considering it was 34° at the time,not good..we were supplied with a fan but still found it too hot throughout the night..

I cannot rate this Hotel highly enough. The staff were incredibly helpful when I messed up the booking, extremely welcoming and friendly, the rooms are great and the bed magnificent. The breakfast eggs Benedict was perfect and even the music was good. Way above 5 star review. I would come to Canterbury again JUST to stay here. And the staff are top notch.

The staff were amazing, giving tips on places to eat and things to do. My only hard night was leaving:)

Lovely old building in the centre of town. Due to old building no air conditioning so rooms got hot, a fan was provided but air con would have been better. Staff were friendly and helpful. Would stay again if the weather wasn't so hot.

A great location for ease of walking around the city. Very quirky building and parking was great at the back. B’fast was a good choice and served well. My only word of caution is that the rooms are supremely hot in this weather and if you are at the front then traffic noise is tremendous. Fans provided but circulated hot air. Lovely bed and pillows. Room on the small side but ok for us as only one night.

No elevatore and narrow stairs to navigate with baggage. Dated and needs a redo

Veldig hyggelig hotell, rent og veldig Engelsk stil. God frokost.

Hotel as you enter is lovely, a cosy vibe and friendly welcome from staff. Lots of seating area for drinks by the bar. We stayed in a junior suite which was decorated lovely, bathroom was great with robes and nice soaps (only thing I’d recommend changing is the floor in bathroom which looked oddly cheap compared to everything else). Lovely tea and coffee facilities with biscuits is a nice addition for when you get back from a day out. Happy hour with complimentary cheese and biscuits is a fab idea and the espresso martinis were nice. Only downsides that took the shine off things, one was the TV didn’t have apps or phone casting even though it said it had both it’s not actually set up and we’d plan to come back early and watch a film on Netflix so that was a shame. Then I slept terribly as the walls were so thin (room 57) and I could hear the man next door or below, unsure which, snore all night so I barely slept then when I did I was woke up early by the same people at 6.45am getting up for their day talking!! You really need to sound proof the room properly that’s not ok. And if you can’t sound proof you need to provide good ear plugs and a white noise machine. Overall lovely just the edge taken off by not sleeping.
