Good customer service, very overpriced drinks and food for quality provided

There was no air conditioning within the room which was not good in hot weather, there was a desktop fan but this didn’t help much at all. The room was spacious and the bed very comfy, but the bathroom smelt of the drains and the shower pressure was poor

Top class hotel . Enjoyed our stay from start to finish. Only downdide was water pressure in shower , could have been better .

Wonderful staff

Lovely helpful staff throughout the hotel. The room was a disappointment though - our Superior Lakeside View With Balcony was next to a smelly and noisy sewage plant, didn't have a balcony and we had to squint through trees to see the lake. In the restaurant, food took an age to come (many other guests weren't happy) and was 'Little Chef quality'. Unlikely to return.

I would like to mention Natalie,at reception, we had a issue re breakfast, we went to her and her customer service was excellent. She sorted our issue wuth care,compassion and efficiently. Well dine and thankyou,Natalie, we will definitely come again,with such excellent customer services

The staff were very friendly and helpful. The room itself was adequate. Some areas could have done with a better clean. Dirty windows, bath in the corners, wasn't very clean and if you lay in the bath, you could see only tops have been cleaned and not the undersides The bed was comfortable, however, the mattress topper was smaller than the mattress, so was a gap eitherside, making the bed smaller. There was quite a lot of noise at 6am every morning from the quests beneath us. Sounded like a blender going! And housekeeping came round just after 8am A bit early, when your on holiday. Also a bit tight on the biscuits, only one each. But did like the shampoo and conditioner supplied.

I checked out today. I was in room 327. At around 10pm last night I had a spasm and my wife needed to call an ambulance. There was no signal. The phone in the room was broken. My wife was terrified. She ended up running up and down the corridor to get signal. Eventually able to get through to 999. Minutes count here. WiFi was terrible. No way to contact reception. Everything could have been worse. The ambulance made it. I was ok but could have been much worse. The mattress was terrible. All I could feel was springs. No sleep and on checkout I was advised there would be a manager contact me. No email. No call no nothing. Worst hotel in experience I have ever had.

Amazing place! Stayed 2 nights as we were going to a concert nearby. Perfect place to stay if going to an event at Caldicot Castle. Great vibe. Good bar and good staff. Happy days!

Disappointing Experience – Would Not Return Our stay started off poorly and unfortunately never improved. After flying in from overseas, we arrived well before 3pm and asked if there was any chance of getting into a room early. Despite explaining our situation — tired, jet-lagged, and soaked from the rain — the front desk was adamant about the 3pm check-in time. We were told rooms weren’t ready, yet the hotel was clearly not full and seemed to have plenty of available space. We ended up waiting in the lobby for nearly three hours, uncomfortable and exhausted. When we finally did get into our room, things didn’t get much better. The rooms are very outdated and poorly maintained. Dust was everywhere, and we noticed several spiders both in our room and around the property. Everything felt neglected and past its prime — not what you expect for the price or from a supposedly well-rated property. All in all, this was a disappointing stay. Between the inflexible service and the lack of basic cleanliness and upkeep, we won’t be returning.

Great Hotel we stsyed here as we were attending a concert at Caldicot Castle. Staff were very friendly and rhe accommodation was very nice. The breakfast was so tasty with such a large selection. Will definitely be back.

Our room was spacious and had a balcony on the lake which was lovely. All staff on reception, in the spa and at breakfast were friendly and warm. Breakfast was good, usual buffet style. All round good value and pleasant stay.

Beautiful buildings and setting when you first arrive driving through the golf course. I had previously asked for an early check in as we were attending a wedding off site, however they did not manage that for us, so we stored our bags and checked in on our return from the wedding. Breakfast was very good on a very nice restaurant

Lovely facility’s

Tintern Abbey is an especially good recommendation for tourists. If possible, hiking spaces around the area would be nice.

Food in the bar was very poor would 100% not recommend eating here and very over priced. Breakfast was better so maybe an off day

Very fascinating, though view from the window was just wall. But the property is very nice.

Some parts of the hotel and lovely, some are in need to modernising. Overall good stay

Exceptional location, well presented and brilliant extra facilities like spa and pool. Food was excellent, room very good quality too. Staff polite and friendly, only minor point is there is not separate area for hotel guests to park so parking peak times when a lot of members using the golf course is difficult
