The tub was amazing in our room!

Beautiful historic maritime hotel minutes from the beach and excellent food. We loved our stay and want to go back already!

The best of our stay was that it was a very charming historic building, staff were very welcoming, and the garden was well-kept. We chose this property above others nearby because previous reviews specified how clean it was. And while the main bedroom showed a significant amount of wear & tear, that didn't bother us. However, when we went to use the shower, we realized how absolutely filthy and smelly it was. It was no better than a public campground shower, and had very obviously not been cleaned in a long time. A very strong stench of mold & mildew stuck with me after the shower and we had to sleep with the bathroom door shut and its vent fan on, so we wouldn't smell it. The dust, grime, and cobwebs on fixtures didn't help. The bed was similar to sleeping on a futon: very hard. Also was supposed to receive a VIP upgrade but instead was situated right next to the noisy pub - our room door sandwiched closely between two public restrooms, with no privacy as diners gaze in at us on our patio. Really disappointing because we wanted very much to like the place. Sadly, we won't be back.

What a neat experience! You can feel the history of this hotel the second you walk through the doors. The old victorian charm is abundant, welcoming and such a change from the 'modern day' hotels.

Very cool hotel

Had never stayed at Shelbourne before but it definitely has a special charm to it. It's updated, modern touch with classic old school vibes, you actually get a room key! Attic room was cozy and quiet, very restful nights sleep. Bed was comfortable and relaxing after long days. There was nobody at the front desk when I checked out early so kind of felt odd but not terribly unsafe. I have a regular place when traveling with pets and family but this was a sweet gem great for just me and my spouse.

What a lovely and charming hotel, lovingly restored and modernized. From the ultra comfortable beds, televisions that allow you to stream from your favorite apps, heavenly clawfoot tubs, and mouthwatering food at the onsite pub. Leah at the front desk was particularly warm and welcoming, adding to our already perfect stay. Highly recommend this for a friends getaway or romantic weekend!

Was charming and just what I was looking for. The service staff were pleasant and very attentive. If you like Victorian Era locations with authenticity, this is a place you must visit.

Funky old property is cool, but smelly- very smelly. Bed was comfy and pillows were nice.

Quiet

Such an amazing quiet stay here. Lots of places to go eat and hang out within walking distance of the hotel, room was very clean and comfortable. Beautiful stained glass windows. The pub was awesome,

Such a cool historic inn! They did an amazing job restoring and decorating it, obviously put a lot of thought, creativity and work into it and it really shows. And they respected and honored the history of the place. Bathrooms are done out with cool fixtures and even claw foot bathtubs. Restaurant on-site is fantastic. Awesome spot!

Pleasant hotel and stay. Quite charming. The room was quite small but anticipated given how old the hotel is.

This is an absolute gem! Beautifully preserved historic hotel with such attentive and welcoming staff. We have had a terrific time during our stay and enjoyed many free activities offered by the hotel. Next time you’re in town, do yourself a favor and pop over, you wont regret it!

It was a beautiful building with nice rooms. Beautiful clawfoot tubs and a sauna on site. 10/10 would go again
