Clean and priced right

The Village Inn was convenient to the heart of Elora (4 - 5 minute drive), but the description on the website was misleading. We had the double bed room and there was no evidence of luxury, renovations, or cleanliness. While advertised as a non-smoking hotel - the room reeked of stale smoke and there was a burn hole in one of the bed comforters. The room was dirty - there were crumbs on the desk chair, and what looked like coffee had been thrown against the wall and not cleaned. Makeup (foundation?) was splattered on the back of the bathroom door, and a stained white facecloth and towel. Additionally, the grate of the large air conditioner was filled with dust and dirt. The mirrors in the room and bathroom were obviously wiped with a dirty rag. There were pain chips out of the walls around the head boards, lights, and corners of the room. Upon checking out on Sunday morning, the desk clerk was in her pajamas (it was after 10:00am). To finish on high note - there is lots of parking available and the motel is in walking distance to Subway, Esso, McDonalds and the Gorge Family Restaurant - which has a great menu and family friendly prices.

Good value for the cost, very clean, cooperating staff.

Stayed there numerous times, it has always been good for us!

It was clean and tidy and very helpful staff. Don’t plan on the breakfast.

Walking distance to Elora Mill and Tim Horton's. Great staff helpful in early check-in to accommodate a wedding.

Really appreciate that there is a fridge and microwave in the room - many hotel rooms don't have this now.

Good parking-close to restaurants and downtown is walking distance. Staff was very attentive.

The staff were great.The room was clean However I had coordinated with front desk staff , when I arrived for a late check out , one p m agreed to pay extra At fifteen minutes after eleven on my checkout day , there was a knock on the door from hotel staff asking me when I'm leaving cause check.It was eleven totally interrupted my business phone call with a little disappointed that the communication was not discussed between all staff members. Also , if you get a room on the ground floor facing the street , you can hear all the loud trucks that go by. If I stay there again , I will definitely ask for room on the back No breckfast It says coffee's offered all day yesterday at 1 PM.When I went to get a coffee , there was no front desk staff and no cream or milk for the coffee

Very basic. Room looked dated was tidy. Needs updating. When bathroom fawcetts are covered in lime scale and grim - its time.

The room was very clean and it was quiet. It was a great visit!

I doubt they didn’t change the bedsheet and blanket because I saw hairs on them.

No staff at don’t deal in the morning. Not much of a breakfast.

This was an all in all, a fine stay, with a caring owner staffed family, grateful for the business, and very professional, yet, you kinda feel like family. I know perhaps that this is a tough business to be ,yet, the smiles,the quick service, and the motels' cleanliness surprised us! These folks/owners, are,and WERE a joy to work with, and providing reasonable pricing. This place is so well, run, that MOST times, they rarely have many unoccupied units. I mean you get exactly what you pay for. Super comfy beds!

I phoned ahead for an earlier check in, but when we got there it wasn’t available. We needed to get changed before a wedding so it was less than ideal.
