Breakfast waa simple and convenient. Location can't be beat. Historical charm is high.

I was super excited to stay here due to the location in St. John’s. When we checked in, we were assigned to a fourth floor room in which we had to carrier suitcases up a flight of stairs. It turned out not to be a big deal, but I did feel like staff should’ve checked in with us, whether that location of a room Would work. We stayed in what seemed to be the revised attic which had some awkward slanted ceilings, although very beautifully decorated. Outside of that the property is beautiful!

This was a perfectly located hotel to take in the Harbour, Water St and George St. It was clean and the bed was so comfortable.

The property is perfectly located for downtown and the harbour! Decorating and having what we needed was good! The renovations for bathrooms and decor were wonderful. A historic building! However we were on the top floor and the air conditioning did not work and normally that is ok but it was terribly hot and we felt like our room was in an attic with no air flow! We had windows that opened to the courtyard, which we could hear all the conversations and loudness from the events that were in the area! I would recommend staying on first or second floor facing the harbour! Very close to George Street and restaurants! Free parking and the fridge was helpful.

Little piece of history

Location was perfect as access to Water and George Streets made it easy to venture out. Our room was on the ground floor and we could hear people inside and outside the building as well as the elevator and traffic. Was disappointed with the 1970s dated decor.

The size of the room was amazing. Nice historical building. Clean but needs some refreshing. Location was perfect. Don’t count on the breakfast though, it consisted of muffins, some fruits (bananas and apples), yogourt, juices and oatmeal only.

Hotel is in a great location,2 blocks from George street. Problem is you can clearly hear the people above us - all night, having x-rated conversations!! The hotel could easily add soundproofing insulation in the open spaces between the exposed wood rafters! (See photo) Breakfast was minimal, nothing gluten free except yoghurt & fruit. Will not stay again as there are other options close.

Love that place

Light breakfast. Heart of downtown St John’s. MANY excellent restaurants nearby. Irish Pubs galore!

Staff were great to deal with

Chambre sous les toits propre, spacieuse, bien décorée et correctement équipée, mais les parties communes gagneraient à être rafraîchies pour être en accord avec le standing annoncé. Le petit-déjeuner est décevant, mal présenté et peu varié, et ne correspond pas aux attentes d’un hôtel de cette catégorie, d’autant que la salle dédiée est très exiguë, obligeant certains clients à prendre leur repas debout faute de places suffisantes.

Beautiful historic building with convenient parking right in downtown. We loved the room, spacious, clean and modern. Breakfast was simple but good. Staff friendly and front desk lady gave helpful directions to get to hotel as nearby streets were closed to traffic.
