Das Hotel war sehr gut, wir haben uns wohlgefühlt. Alles war sauber und die Mitarbeiter waren sehr freundlich. Nur zur Info: Vor Ort wurde zusätzlich die Kurtaxe für fünf Tage berechnet, was bei der Buchung nicht erwähnt war.”

We had a lovely holiday here, clean room friendly staff, good pool, nice breakfasts and short walk to a great town with loads of tavernas and bars. Beach great, rocky but beautiful. Prepare to haggle down subbeds. Took our two young kids and it was all stress free and lovely.

Nous avons passé un très bon séjour avec notre fille de 5 ans dans cet hôtel, le personnel est très gentil, la piscine et les équipements sont très bien. L’hôtel est bien situé proche de la plage, à Kamari une ville sympathique. Le petit déjeuner est bon, mais pas très varié. Nous y retournerions sans hésiter.

Where to start… my honest and comprehensive review of Hotel Makarios where I stayed for a week a few weeks ago. The Good: The rooms are clean, well-equipped, and tidily maintained. The housekeeping team really does an excellent job – everything felt fresh, and the beds were especially comfortable. The location is fairly quiet, though it is directly under the flight path with planes landing nearby. Iys around 10 minutes from the airport in a taxi that will set you back between €30 and €40. That said, it's only about 10–15 minutes on foot away from the lively Kamari beachfront, which is convenient. The Not-So-Good: Unfortunately, there were several areas that needed improvement. The pools were okay – the water appeared green and murky, and the surrounding tiles looked neglected and in need of a deep clean. The poolside toilets, although plentiful, are located underground behind a damaged door. The lighting is so poor that you can barely see anything inside, and there are no signs for gender designation or locks on the stalls, which is a concern. Breakfast was underwhelming. It’s quite limited – occasionally, some bacon and beans, overcooked scrambled eggs, a few pastries, and some scattered continental items. The dining room itself is stiflingly hot, which may be intentional to avoid overcrowding, as none of the windows are opened. The staff do work incredibly hard under these conditions, but it doesn’t make for a pleasant experience. Breakfast is only available from 8–10

It’s was very good and nice people work there. Family hotel with good service and good distance with bus to Fira.

Hotellet er meget profesjonelt drevet med mange utrolig dyktige medarbeidere. Renholdet var upåklagelig, rent å ryddig overalt hele tiden. Eneste lille minuset med hotellet var at det ikke ble servert noe annet enn frokost. Man hadde litt enkel mat i poolbaren, men middag måtte man inn til byen for å få.

Tutto ottimo, ma colazione un po’ carente

Einziger Nachteil war, dass direkt gegenüber ein Lokal ist, in dem Hochzeiten gefeiert werden. Bei ohrenbetäubender Musik bis weit in die Nacht hinein. Die Inhaber sind entzückend und sehr bemüht, die Anlage gepflegt, das Frühstück frisch und völlig ausreichend.

Es un buen sitio, el personal del hotel son súper amables, y lo mejor es la limpieza, todo está muy limpio! relación calidad precio es excepcional.

I was shocked during check-in. I didn’t like the behaviour of the manager. We were charged 60 euro extra for our kids which was not mentioned in the hotel’s children policy. To my utter surprise the manager even threatened us of cancelling our prepaid booking & shockingly asking us to leave. How can tourist just leave a place which they booked earlier & the place is in an island.

Séjour Fantastique ! Le village de Kamari est très mignon et sympa, les avions passent souvent mais ce n’est pas dérangeant. Les gens sont trèd accueillant et aucun problème de compréhension. 10/10 !!

Excellent séjour au Makarios hôtel. Personnel au petit soin et toujours de bon conseil. L’hôtel est propre les chambres nettoyer tout les jours.beaucoup d’équipement dans la chambre notamment un frigo. À proximité de la plage de kamari , arrêt de bus juste en face de l’hôtel Je recommande cet hôtel

Schönes Hotel nahe des Flughafens. Der Strand ist fußlüfig erreichbar. Pool und Parkplätze ebenfalls vorhanden.

Lots of space in our room. Very close to the airport and there’s a bus stop right outside the hotel. It’s a 10 min walk into town, 2-3 minutes to the rocky beach. Lots of privacy by the pool (no one really walking by as this location is a bit remote). Towels can be borrowed for the pool for a refundable 10 euros. The airplanes land nearby and you can hear then but you get used to it. The air conditioning works very well. We had a small fridge, which was awesome. 2 euros to get to Thira by bus and the restaurants were much cheaper in this area. We also had an balcony with a place to hang wet items. Overall it was a great experience. The sunrise was breathtaking and you could see it from the property but there’s a better view just a couple of minutes away.
