This is a lovely hotel full of character. Yes it looks a little scruffy on the outside but the inside is good. Every member of staff was pleasant & helpful especially on the front desk for checking in & out. We arrived early & asked about a parking permit & the lovely lady not only sorted us a parking space but also let us have our room key even thought we were a few hours early 😊 Our room was clean & had everything we needed, the walls are thin as we could hear the people next door but we were only there for 1 night so it didn't bother us,the bed was comfortable. The bar area is nice & the buffet breakfast was good. We were there for a concert at the open air theater & the location of the hotel was spot on for this, just a few minutes walk away. We enjoyed our stay at the Clifton & would definitely do it again 😊

Sea view all new furnishings down to carpets, brand new shower ect all been refurbished smells lovely and looks modern, we did have a breakfast but I found meal cold but still ate it,receptionist called liz really nice and helped us throughout. I would certainly return.

Amazing welcome at reception, really lovely scent on arrival! The room was pretty warm but that's mainly because of the beautiful morning sun blazing away. The sea, castle and landscape views were absolutely stunning. Great conversation set up in the window for tea and surfer watching. Well worth paying for parking on busy days. Spotlessly clean housekeeping deserve a raise. ;)

The room was very clean and comfortable. Staff there were really friendly and welcoming!

We had a great stay. Out side looked like it need re-decorating. But staff excellent. Would definitely list there again.

Nice clean room, helpful staff and a convenient location. The only gripe really was I could have used a 2nd pillow as standard and the exterior of the hotel could do with some minor maintenance. Overall, a great value stay in a good location.

Lovely clifftop hotel with the most stunning views of Scarborough's North Bay. Room was very clean upon check-in, only flaw was no housekeeping but they would come clean your room and replenish anything if you request for it. Staff were very pleasant and efficient. Would definitely stay there again and ensure I book an oceanfront room.

Excellent location on the beautiful North Bay. Rooms were very spacious. Food was hot and adequate.

Everything is perfect

We were given a ground floor double room and it was first rate, clean, warm and cozy. We ate in house, Bar meals which were good value and tasty. The staff very obliging and helpful at all times. We would certainly come back again without hesitation.

Windows were a little dirty on the outside but it is that time of year. Other than that was a lovely friendy clean place in a lovely location. We will definitely be returning

We loved the Old-World style of the Hotel the room was small but comfortable and the shower was a challenge. The staff were courteous and very helpville and we enjoyed their attendance. The food was well presented although limited in scale the breakfast was just right.

Would have liked a sea view but as I spent much time outside as possible, it was not missed a lot ! I think I misunderstood arrangements for breakfast,( I was a room only booking) I thought I could go to restaurant and pay for a meal, there and then but not so? Really nothing to to complain about! I enjoyed my short stay and hope to return before too long. Any Staff I met ( with one exception) were cheerful and helpful! Thank You Folks!
