This is a very conveniently located place with extremely friendly, knowledgeable, and low-key owners. There is everything you need, including a large shared fridge and a microwave in a lounge room. The facilities and furniture are spotless and perfectly OK but not fancy latest fashion—if they were, the owners would need to charge much more than they do now. The house is on a hill very close to the ferry but before the extensive roadworks dealing with the recent cyclone damage. This means you can get quickly to the other side of the river [where all the river cruises come from], but also have easy access to places further north. If you are planning to stay for a while, it is a good idea to buy supplies from the large Woolworths supermarket in Mossman. Last but not least, there is a flock of really cute chickens, who provide eggs for the daily breakfast.
