convenient location with excellent ocean view. Friendly hotel staffs, abundant breakfast, clean and warm room.

The hotel is so charming! It was amazingly clean for such an old building. The owner is lovely and bends over backwards for her guests. It is set in a quaint little area with nice views and we even watched deer walk through the yard. The fan and air conditioning was quite noisy. It is a Big old hotel and the shower ran for 5 minutes and still never got warm enough to get in! We took a bird bath before continuing our road trip! The continental breakfast was satisfactory and the room it is in was stunning! To be fair to the Host we never told her about the shower…we were possibly too impatient to get back on our drive. We drove the whole of Nova Scotia and Cape Breton in 6 nights! Amazing…

Lovely, historic hotel close to restaurants and wharf. Clean rooms with a lovely view. Linda is a welcoming owner/hostess.

Comfortable bed, quiet, older property quaint. Within walking distance of shops and restaurants. Nice view of the harbour from our window and lots of fresh air. Washroom was small but clean. There was a deer in the parking lot when we arrived which was neat.

Stayed one night on a stopover in Pictou. The owner/operator was very welcoming, and check in was easy. Our room was cozy, clean and bright, overlooking the water. Parking was out front. The building is what caught our attention, as it is an historic inn. It has modern updates, and still loaded with character. Breakfast in the dining room was lovely. Nice to stay in a small, owner operated inn.

Everything about the inn was wonderful. Beautiful peaceful setting. Calm comfortable decor. Very comfortable beds. Would have appreciated in-room coffeemaker and a hot item or two included in the breakfast.

Accueil parfait très sympathique avec de bons conseils sur les environs. Restaurants proches accessibles à pied et très bons. Petit déjeuner continental copieux varié et très bon. Parking.

The front door was locked when we arrived at check in time but it was opened immediately by a woman who we believe is the owner. Check in was very quick. She escorted us through the main lobby and a common room which were beautifully decorated in the Victorian style and she pointed out the then-closed room where the included continental breakfast would be served in the morning. Breakfast opened up at 7:30. As we were booked for the lst ferry to P.E.I. the next day we said we likely would not be able to join them for breakfast. She assured us we'd have plenty of time to get the ferry but new to it, we decided to follow the ferry line's recommendation regarding arrival time. . She took us up the stairs to the 2nd floor (there are no elevators) and offered us a choice between 2 very nice rooms. It was storming outside when we arrived and it had worsened. We had had a late lunch so decided against going out into the storm for dinner. We did go downstairs mid evening to take a longer look around and while there were other cars in the parking lot, there was no one in the common rooms. There was no one at the front desk but there was a telephone there with instructions on how to reach the owner. Our room was nicely decorated in turquoise and white, with a flat screen TV and a comfortable Queen bed. The hotel was very clean.

The property was very well maintained, beds were very comfortable, complementary breakfast was great. The staff was very receptive and helpful, carried our bags in for us, beautiful view of the ocean from our room.

The room was clean and comfortable but you are not allowed to check in early.

Staff was very gracious. Breakfast was really nice. (Get you going) Beautiful old Inn Washroom in room will need to be on their to do list. It was just ok. When you travel you take your chances.
