Beautiful hotel in a lovely village. Parking was easy and our room was beautiful. The roll top bath featured in our room felt luxurious.

Had a nice night at the George. Staff in the pub and restaurant were great. The room was large and comfortable. Bed was huge. Managed to park opposite on the public pay& display but parking could be an issue

Overall, the stay was good but the room could’ve been more clean - the room wasn’t hoovered throughout our stay, and if it was, it wasn’t to a good degree. The room also felt dusty. We did raise this with staff, and they were very apologetic but when we returned back to the room the following day, the room was tidy but it was obvious that the carpet wasn’t hoovered. The location was good, and in addition to the car park, there were free car parks a few minutes walk away which was very beneficial. The staff were very helpful and pleasant. Based on the cleanliness of the room, I wouldn’t stay again but for the pricing, staff and location, I’d definitely consider it.

Lovely hotel, nice rooms but a little on the hot side. Breakfast was good. Nice area and parking was free.

This is my first review of anything ever - product, place, airline, anything! My stay at The George deserves a review because it was so perfect. Amazing food, lovely room, slept well, great breakfast. Simply nothing negative to say! Staff are great and I will stay again if I get the chance. My only feedback would be to suggest soft close toilet seats in the rooms 😬

Lovely place with friendly staff. Breakfast was fantastic and the overall value for money was excellent. If I had to make some suggestions the rooms are lovely and modern but alittle tired. Little things like cleaning the tv remote, small areas of mold in the bathroom and wipeable marks on the wallpaper/blind. Certainly didn’t impact our stay but would make a difference to some. Will definitely return!

We loved our stay at The Geroge Townhouse. The room was spacious and even had a nespresso machine so we felt we had hit something luxurious and, in many ways, we had! The bathroom was huge, warm and had a wonderful shower where you can have a large spray head or a small one. Choice! Meals were great. Staff were great. What else can I say?

Beautiful room, really excellent. Sharon was so kind to us the next morning at breakfast. As a local I thoroughly recommend a stay there.

Lovely old building and gorgeous room with nice offerings for tea and coffee pods for the machine . Lovely large shower and although on the high street side we weren’t really bothered by any noise. Staff all seemed really friendly and helpful particularly as we did encounter a problem with our room , however the manager dealt with this promptly and efficiently and we were pleasantly surprised how kind he was due to this. Breakfast was fantastic and plenty of choice. We would not hesitate to return if we needed to be in the area again .

Had to change rooms due to noise from outside units , second room also noisy ,very tired looking , not very clean , handle on toilet loose ,shower not working on ‘rain shower’ Bed mattress had no support, felt like was on floor ! Definitely not a boutique hotel bedroom sadly

I nice stay (B&B) - friendly welcome. Good size de luxe room with comfortable bed was only a standard 5' bed not a super king which was provided in some other rooms. No comfortable chairs to sit on. Would stay again.

Deluxe room 3 was spacious, over looking the high street, but the double bed was narrow. Will certainly return, and choose a twin room made up as a double. Great value in this charming market town.
