The hotel is easy to find and close to York famous city walls. The room is not too big but enough for single traveller. Reception lady is kind and offering help with my big luggage upstair.

Fantastic room, clean, comfortable, spacious and quiet. Great location, just a short stroll to the city wall and city centre. Owner was very friendly, letting us use the carpark after we checked out. Will definitely visit again

Good loacation, only a short walk into York

Un soggiorno semplicemente meraviglioso. Dal momento in cui si entra si respira storia, calore e autenticità: un luogo davvero speciale. La struttura è dotata di un fantastico pub interno, con un’ottima selezione di birre, e di una sala biliardo perfetta per rilassarsi e trascorrere piacevolmente il tempo libero. Un valore aggiunto che rende il soggiorno ancora più unico. La colazione è stata eccezionale, preparata al momento direttamente dal proprietario: uova incredibili, talmente buone che… le sogno ancora la notte! Si percepisce tutta la cura e l’attenzione per gli ospiti. Il proprietario è una persona straordinaria, gentile e premurosa. Essendo il periodo natalizio, ci ha fatto una graditissima sorpresa con un upgrade della camera, assegnandoci una sistemazione con cucina. Un gesto davvero attento, considerando che il giorno di Natale molti locali sono chiusi: ci siamo sentiti accolti e coccolati. La posizione è perfetta: a pochi minuti a piedi dal centro di York, raggiungibile con una piacevole passeggiata, ideale per iniziare il giro turistico senza stress. York è una città meravigliosa e questo alloggio ha reso il nostro soggiorno ancora più indimenticabile. Torneremmo senza esitazione e lo consigliamo a chiunque voglia vivere un’esperienza autentica, calorosa e ricca di atmosfera

Check in was very smooth a lovely young lady very helpful and welcoming friendly atmosphere.My Room was clean and warm comfortable bed and nice shower.Evening staff also very nice and welcoming to . Lovely character pub good parking very short walk to the shambles.I also had a very nice cooked breakfast in morning,I will stay again definitely.😊A lovely stay.

Pros: very friendly staff, comfortable room and bedding, very good for the couple of nights I spent there. Cons: walls are very thin. First night no issue, second night was unlucky enough to have a neighbour flush their toilet at 5am, which sounded like the whole building was coming down, and other neighbours making a ruckus at 6am. Also had some silverfish in the bathroom, but those are tough to avoid in the uk.

All the staff were amazing, friendly and welcoming. We spoke to Maddy a lot who was charming and effervescent. The pub was a lovely place to be at the end of a day of exploring. We had a wonderful room with everything we could want. Thanks for the fantastic stay.

The room was clean, very outdated and very overcrowded. The staff were friendly. Very overpriced for what you get. For £100 a night, breakfast should have been included.

Great value, especially for York. Nice clean room and tasty breakfast. Easy walking distance into the city centre.

De kamer was schoon, ontbijt was goed, vriendelijke eigenaar. Tussen 12:00 en 14:00 gesloten, dus dan kun je niet inchecken

A bit run down, but clean enough. The landlord was very prompt and helpful but the bar was woeful. Needs some love.
