Expedia booked me at the wrong Tarbert. I asked for the Tarbert on Isle of Harris. Apparently, this happens a lot. The hotel I did stay at in the Tarbert I was hoping for said it’s a common mistake. They’ve tried informing booking companies, to no avail. Though I contacted the Anchor about the booking mistake, I was charged full price for a room I was 250 miles from.

Feels a bit dated in places, inc the bathrooms, but perfectly clean and well placed in Tarbert. Walls are a little thin - the chap snoring next door was heard quite clearly!

Clean and ok if you stay one night

The staff were pleasant and helpful. .. The room was in need of some relatively minor repairs.

On street parking was safe. Room was clean. Carpets a bit dated but fine. Staff and food were excellent

The location is good and staff were pleasant. The hotel I felt was lacking in the maintenance, paint could have been refreshed and my sink had a big crack in it. Although the bed was clean, I felt like the bathroom could do with a deep clean around the shower etc. Breakfast was fine, good enough but nothing special.

The greatest assets to the hotel are the staff. We came across two lovely members of staff who were great. Breakfast was good with also a varied choice with local produce, straight out of Loch Fyne. Parking is directly opposite and free. Tarbert is a bit tired like lots of British resorts but is a charming little place and perfect for a one or two night stay.

We had an early ferry to Islay the next morning, and the staff were so thoughtful to prepare our breakfast ahead of time and leave it at the front desk. Great service and nice, comfortable room. The hotel is also very close to the ferry terminal — only about a 10-minute drive, which was very convenient.

Overnight stay whilst using ferry from Kennacraig, check in was smooth, room was small but on the whole very clean. Bathroom towel rail in real need of replacement. Food and service very good and would recommend the restaurant. Would happily stay again.

Breakfast was fab and parking a breeze. Tarbert is a quiet gem.

Lovely stay in this charming town. The room was comfortable and the breakfast was delicious.

Free on street parking just opposite. Hotel just needs some work - large stains on our bedroom carpet, ceiling tiles missing/damp stains in hallway. Breakfast was nice.

Great hotel. Super location, right overlooking the harbour. Lovely clean room. Helpful staff. Fabulous breakfast

Nothing relavant

Too small. Since it was for one night, it was okay. The Harbour was beautiful. Town very small and we were unable to find anyone that could accommodate us for dinner.
