Took payment out of my account without confirmation of booking, no reminder or email, just rang me on the same night to ask what time I was checking in. Then took payment of £305 out of my account, tried to call them direct on Saturday and no response Absolutely ridiculous.

Room clean tidy, pool area bit tired with weeds and bar area was very small, not very welcoming.

Lovely hotel and spacious room in a beautiful location.

Loved it, helped with the sunny weather but the spa staff were excellent at sorting drinks. Lovely pool area and friendly staff, will return, beautiful part of the country

The hotel was a welcoming oasis of comfort and luxury. The swimming pool was warm and enticing and the staff were very attentive. We hope to visit the hotel again. It is in a quiet location the centre of historic Helmsley and handy for the Yorkshire Moors.

The stay here was bought for us as a gift. It was such a thoughtful gift as we had 2 wonderful days / nights in the beautiful village of Helmsley. The heated pool was a real delight as was the use of the spa facilities.

Love the heated pool and Jacuzzi, seats around the pool possibly need new cushions and could do with a few more loungers but very relaxing

The spa is super , the rooms are simple but perfect and the staff are just so helpful and lovely I left something behind and it was no problem for the staff to arrange to send it back to me in London the next morning . Nothing is complicated as life should be and is very rarely found. It’s the second time I have been there and to Helmsley in the last 3 weeks and I will be back again soon . Thank you .

My friend and I had a girlie two night break at this hotel and loved it. When we arrived the receptionist noticed I was using a walking aid and unprompted started looking to change our room to an accessible room eliminating needing to use stairs. We were very touched by his thoughtfulness. It was an upgrade to a suite which was outstanding and it really enhanced our comfort and experience. We had a sitting room (with verandah) which was very comfortable and well equipped with a coffee maker, selection of high quality teas. There was a large bathroom and a super king size bed. Breakfast was nice, not outstanding but nice. The swimming pool was the big treat. Beautifully warm and the highlight of the stay. All the staff were very cheerful and friendly. This hotel is special and situated next to the Market Square which had lovely coffee shops, quaint shops and enticing pubs. Can’t wait to go back so thank you to all the staff especially Ali xxxxxx

Room lovely but Swimming pool and lounge area very dirty, pool not cleaned. Spa area dirty and mould on ceiling, showers filthy. Such a shame as visited a few years ago and was spotless.

Yes welcoming for dogs. Had a poolside suite. Only things i would say are the pillows are very hard and the bed linen could be softer. I say this because is expensive to stay. Also had to pay for a cappuccino at breakfast and i think when you pay this money you shouldnt need too

The staff and food really are beyond expectations here. The facilities are also fantastic. Definitely worth a visit and provides great value for money.

Beautifully warm outdoor pool and jacuzzi even on a cloudy March day. Loved the steamy salt room. Really friendly staff and a good choice at breakfast. Will definitely be back.

The room was clean comfortable warm and very spacious. We looked out onto the outdoor pool. One night we heard them bell ringing at the church nearby for some time. All the staff were extremely kind and polite and we enjoyed our breakfasts.

Pool was excellent, nice and warm despite March temperatures.
