Prime location to everywhere

We stayed at Park Royal and were very disappointed. The hotel is under major construction, which makes it feel more like temporary housing for workers than a proper hotel. There was constant noise, construction activity everywhere, and very little sense of service or hospitality. What made it worse is that we were not informed about the situation in advance, and when we raised concerns, staff tried to argue instead of addressing the issue. For anyone expecting a relaxing hotel stay with service, this is not the place.

Le'ts start saying it is not really a 5-star hotel but the communal areas are nice (especially the rooftop seating and pool) and the staff is very friendly (and helpful). On the other hand the rooms are quite outdated (at least mine, on the 11th floor) and there is always some dust smell (probably the carpet). However, what I found almost autrageous was the breakfast (for those like me who opted for the B&B option). They give you breakfast vouchers stating that an American Breakfast is included and here it's the first issue as I belive it would be way nicer if every night the staff emailed the customer list of those with breakfast included to the top floor cafe (where the breakfast is organised - run by a different company). Also, the breakfast menù (a la carte) is fairly rich but you can only choose the American breakfast or very few replacement (yogurt, oatmeal or fruit bowl). Given the American breakfast is the most expensive thing why not giving you the opportunity to chose 1 item - any item from the breakfast menù? This comes with the choice of a juice or coffee - so quite poor. Normally 5-star hotels with a la carte breakfast would still accompany the main choice with a selection of pastries and jams/hazelnut cream. But this is NYC and nobody bothers to make an effort (even in little things). The system made me pay for 2 breakfast per days even if I was alone and this was better for me as the only yougurt (I don't have savoury food at breakfast) and ordered x 2.

Great location, nice roof top, rooms and bathroom are very spacious

Fabulous place to stay with valet for parking. Clean, comfortable and great location for a variety of activities. The roof top pool and cocktails provided a wonderfully cool / relaxing vibe.

This hotel feels boutique while offering better than most extras such as the rooftop pool, bar and lounge area. The staff overall make this property feel Like a home away from home. The rooms are spacious and such comfortable pillows and beds. Our group spent a week here and it was fantastic.

The hotel was great, room was large. The pool was nice. Its very crowded as non guests are able to pay to use the pool. Pool drink service was a long wait. We happened to be there when a " private" party was booked for the pool and families were kicked out. People were upset, understandably so. If you book your hotel around a pool for your kids and they aren't allowed to be in it one afternoon, thats a big deal. Guests should have been told at check in.

Wonderful staff, good location nice restaurants, cafes around it. Terrible noise from the cooling towers; in this era of super technology- this is a shame! Don’t go if a light sleeper!!!

Very nice and modern hotel that is family friendly. Great rooftop pool deck and overall location.

Hôtel bien situé dans Manhattan et plutôt calme au 9ème. Attention toutefois à prévoir : 48$/jour de taxe de séjour en supplément et les tips qu'ils rajoutent systématiquement. La piscine n'est pas très grande et les transats sont vites pleins mais les horaires sont souples, idem pour le petit-déj (jusqu'à 11h). Parapluie à disposition en cas de pluie.

I paid so much for a small room and I said we were 4 people 2 adults and 2 kids only one bed.

Camera pulita e con letti comodi, delusione piscina piccola per la maggior parte all'ombra e con pochi lettini, praticamente non usufruibile. Riguardo il bar del roof top, la sera non offre il servizio ai tavoli, e non offre la ristorazione. Peccato!!!

Great location. Good sized room. Rooftop pool was great. Very comfortable bed. Less than 5 minutes to 28th street subway station on 6 line. Very handy

The Manager resolved a small problem that I encountered. He was very courteous and respectful.

Stayed with family and hotel hit all the right notes and more. Great location, kind staff, clean rooms, quiet, large rooms and pool. Will be coming back!
