The rooms were so hot couldn’t be helped in this heat but couldn’t sleep art all , gave us a fan but it wasn’t much good , breakfast was ok but on the first morning run out of orange juice and coffee machine wasn’t working that well . On the Saturday there was a wedding party music was loud into the night nobody told us in advance

Excellent location and lovely gardens! We really enjoyed our stay. Unfortunately there was no air conditioning in the room and as we’re experiencing a heatwave it was incredibly uncomfortable in a family room with 4 people in it! I called reception and they told he it had been broken for a long time. I know it’s an old hotel but this really should be a priority especially as we’re now in summer

We booked this last minute due to terrible service from another nearby hotel. The staff were very helpful, attentive and friendly. We had the cosy double room which is very cosy but it suited what we needed. It had a lovely view of the gardens. The only negatives for the stay was the light above the sink (which is in the room itself) didn't work and unfortunately the second night the dogs at the nearby farm were barking all night (this obviously isnt the hotels fault) other than that we had a great stay and would definitely go back.

The hotel and grounds were lovely, cosy lounges, comfortable rooms, food good, staff helpful and friendly. The bathroom in our room needed some attention, the bath was blocked, water took a long time to drain away. Swimming pool was cold and needed a touch up of paint. Overall we had a lovely stay and nothing was too much problem for any staff.

First time on my own and staff was very kind Beautiful place will come back.

Great location for exploring New Forest area. Family friendly. Staff were nowhere to be seen during dining hours and while we were walking around the hotel during our stay? Service was poor during our meals. The building is beautiful but could use a major uplift in the form of fresh paint - all doors were dirty and scuffed. And all the furniture was well past its used by date, couches and chairs all lol tired and we’re sinking. Some money could be spent on making the interior match the exterior as it’s so beautiful!

Was informed i needed to book breakfast for a family of four to ensure they had enough and went down at 945 to find out they had run out of things we wanted, so had to check out with breakfast and find somewhere else. Not ideal.

Nice hotel with friendly staff. Food amazing and reasonably priced. They allow dogs to stay which is a little annoying especially when guests leave the dogs to bark in room!

The staff are really helpful and kind. Hotel is great and has a really nice kids room

No cocktails available Room smelt from previous occupants, housekeeping left doors open but still bad. Service in restaurant poor husband finished main course before I got mine due to issue in kitchen. Had to ask for our wine as they seemed to have forgotten it. Breakfast service also poor however would say the quality of food was good

Hotel was absolutely stunning, my second time staying. We always use the New Forest Hotel chains and they never disappoint. The lounge was cosy for a glass of wine after dinner. Staff were really friendly. The room was just what we needed for a night. The pool was clean and a nice size.

This hotel could be grand, but it's in a very poor state of repair. The room we had was on the top floor, boiling hot. tatty mis matched furniture, bedside lamps not working. The curtains were inadequate, and there was a bright search light above each window meaning that it was blindingly bright all night. Windows filthy and in a very poor state. Shower didn't work!!! We only stayed one night as we were heading for Poole for a ferry early. The only thing that is good is that it's down a track and has safe parking!! didn't have any food so I can't comment. Room 20 is the worst room in the property

The hotel got the basics right. I booked this hotel because of the pool. Which on both days was shut. The rooms were clean and well kept. Food was aimed for a 5 star palte, but i would give it 3. Beautiful gardens and very friendly and helpful staff.

Nice Friendy staff and fellow guests. Asked for a few things to be put right such as the right sized coffee cups for the coffee machine. All these requests were rectified straight away. Very suprised and disappointed to be told that our room was not entitled for a bed make up,change of towels or general clean unless we were staying for 4 nights or more (we were staying for 2). Hotel was clean but smelt a bit of dogs. Seemed to be more dog friendly than child friendly. No mattress was initially supplied for cot.
