You simply cannot fault this property. From the moment you drive up its winding drive and enter the main living area, the wow factor just kicks in! The views, peacefulness and facilities are out of this world. Rooms are spotless & your host Lou can’t be more helpful or do enough for you. Breakfast is exquisite made from produce on the retreat. We wouldn’t hesitate to return if back this way and nobody would ever leave this place disappointed. If you do, there must be something wrong with you !!

We loved our time with Louise at Doolan's!!! It is about 15 minutes outside of Rotorua (far from any sulphur smell!). Louise made DELICIOUS breakfasts each morning and the common living area is very spacious with fabulous view. Our room was small, but completely adequate because of the large living space. The bed was quite comfy. The grounds are lovely!!! Louise was a delightful host.

Fabulous property in beautiful country setting with easy access to Rotorua and its attractions. Louise is a very welcoming host providing tea and biscuits on arrival and delicious home cooked breakfasts every morning. She also has a wealth of information regarding what to see in the area and on local traditions and NZ history. The facilities are top notch and I will recommend Doolan’s to my friends if they visit the area

The best part isn't even mentioned in other reviews, the various grottos in the beautiful garden and the sumptuous breakfast.

The hosts were wonderful. Very informative about the area and history and culture of NZ. The Inn is lovely and tea and breakfast yummy.

Fantastic place and hosts! We could not recommend Doolan’s more, Louise and mark are lovely hosts, very accommodating and interesting to converse with. The estate is simply gorgeous and comfy! Wish we could have stayed longer and will definitely return one day. They had many good travel suggestions and know so much about the area’s history and culture! Breakfast was perfection!

This is a beautiful home in outskirts of Rotorua. Louise is a great hostess and we felt very welcomed immediately upon arrival. She and her husband Mark took over this family home turned bed & breakfast from her mother a couple years ago. The rooms were very clean. The living room is huge and unique. We enjoyed the breakfast very much, and my wife learned how to make Egg Benedict in Louise’s way. I do recommend this place and would return without hesitation.

The surrounding is lovely and the panorama is great. Lousie, the host is a talented painter and a wonderful host, who knows exactly what to suggest to her guests. The property is spotless and unique and it is wonderfully quiet.

This place was paradise! Quiet, beautifully situated in the middle of hills, valleys, trees and flowers. The room was stunning, breakfast delicious, hosts lovely, friendly and accommodating, and just a short drive to all of the sights and activities. I would highly recommend Doolan's.
