Situated near the station and at the top of the main drag, this hotel is in dire need of some tlc. They do appear to have a programme of renovations in hand, but our corner room had several cracked window panes and dated furnishings. The sink does not have a mixer tap, and the hot water is scalding, while there is almost no water pressure for the shower. Staff were very helpful, especially in making arrangements for me to store my mobility scooter. The buffet breakfast was well stocked (the sausages particularly tasty), and they provided non-dairy milk substitutes on request. You can ask for one barista-style coffee with breakfast, but otherwise it is instant coffee or pay extra. There is plentiful parking (though, beware; our satnav sent us to the tradesmen’s entrance)

Good location for where I was working. My room was large with a comfortable bed. Tea and coffee facilities were good and tv channels ok. Only really downside was very poor water pressure in the shower. I would stay there again.

Very helpful staff nothing to much problem

We were very pleased with our Felixstowe stay at the Orwell. The room was comfortable and clean. The evening meal had an indian influence and I tried some interesting and enjoyable dishes. An adequate breakfast paved the way for the day, after our solid sleep. So if the need calls for a return to the town then we will stay here.

First of all, no air-conditioning in the rooms and we’re very warm trying to sleep. Also, there were several events going on during my stay. When I returned, there were no parking slots available.

Convenient location. Stunning bathroom (with shower only) and plenty of toiletries. The TV signal kept getting interrupted. No aircon, only a fan. Noise travelled through from function being held below our room. Old furniture. A fridge in the room would have been nice. Free parking if signed in at Reception. Overall not a bad hotel.

Parking convenient let us log in and park a bit before checking in. Food at Elephant and Barrel amazing.

Staff very friendly and helpful

Stayed in a refurbished room, large bed, newly decorated shower room, tea, coffee, kettle and bottled water in the room and toiletries in bathroom. Easy free parking, excellent roast dinner on Sunday evening, staff all very helpful throughout our stay. Only one minor improvement would be a checkout at 11:00 instead of 10:00 without having to pay a surcharge. Would definitely recommend.

Traditional hotel, well maintained, nice room.

The location of the hotel was very good. The hotel was a little bit old fashion but the room we stayed was in a section relatively new and clean. Overall the staff was polite and helpful except the lady we first met during the check-in. We asked for a quiet room as we have sent an request message via Expedia in advance but the lady said there was no any message received and all rooms were quite full already before check the computer. As we arrived before the check-in time we asked if we could leave the luggage in the reception, her first reply was "no" and then said only could do with small cases. For other questions she just simply replied "maybe", "don't know" or "I can't tell you".

I had a burger in the bar and it was very good.

Generally clean and confortable, friendly staff. Shower was pathetic. Instant coffee at breakfast was disappointing. Would have liked more information about hotel facilities.

The hole stay was horrendous from staff to room I would not recommend cob webs hair in shower Staff were really unhelpful my experience was not good compared to other places Iv stay in Felixstowe the only part what was the price however i understand why now poorly maintained
