Close to train station. Good staff. Good price would stay here again

Room was an un-renovated room. Clean with a very comfortable bed and pillows. Great value for money. Rob was very helpful at reception Nice location for amenities. Short walk through town to the sea front. Will definitely stay again

Stayed here several times now and never had a problem. This time we went for a suite and the extra few pounds really was worth it as the rooms were huge and had everything you would want plus as usual very clean. Great location and lovely old building. Only negative is I think they should reserve parking for hotel guests as if they have an event on its first come first served basis. During the day it’s not an issue but I popped out for 20 minutes in the evening and came back to find a choir rehearsing and no parking spaces available.

Parking security a bit of a concern not properly light

Really helpful and friendly staff. Breakfast was really nice. The bed was comfortable. Really liked seeing the elephant out front aswell, really nice touch. Rooms are in need of a bit of modernisation, only 1 plug socket in the whole room.

Whilst the hotel decor maybe dated, I found my stay comfortable and enjoyable. Best sleep in a long time with the comfortable bed and spacious room. Breakfast very good too. Service from the lady hosting breakfast was very good.

Bathroom was lovely

You can clearly see that the Orwell Hotel was in its day a grand building and even though there has been some refurbishment in the downstairs area of the hotel, the rooms are looking very tired. Instead of spending the money on a massive, life size elephant out the front of the hotel (yes really) they should be spending the money on updating the showers, toilet roll holders, painting the window frames etc etc. The bed was comfortable which is always good and the tv in my room was basic but usable. Sound proofing could be better as I had one night of disturbance from a neighbouring room. The biggest problem is that the management are not responsive. I had to raise a complaint about someone ( presumably a random hotel guest ) accessing the lobby desk telephone system and calling my room 2 times at 2:00 in the morning as a prank caller. I have since emailed the managers 2 times and still have had no response after 5 days. Needless to say my experience has not been overly positive. A real shame.😳

Great value, was in a noisy room next to the boiler, but they gave me another room and I slept well.

Had requested a walk in shower. The allocated room had a bath with shower over. There were no hand grips/safety handles on bath or wall. (Not good for health & safety). Informed a change of room would be almost double original price. Declined. Issue resolved next day by different staff member.

Room had just been upfurbed so it was lovely big and very clean....staff vert helpful and courteous

Room was smaller than our usual one and also had mugs half full of coffee missed by the cleaners.

Excellent value, location, staff, food and drink . Good night’s sleep .
