Central location, nice decor, rooms clean but small

Loved this hotel and its history, set on a high street .newly refurbished. Good value

the rear room was fine, but the window was single-glazed with '60s louuvre ventilation which let in all the noise - traffic from warwick street and hilmorton road, and loud bottle and rubbish collection at 4am. there was no advertised times for breakfast. their website says their rooms have "Flat screen, digital TV with over 100 channels plus you can cast from any device", but for the life of me i could not cast from my phone and there were no instructions on how to. also, the tv guide function was a couple of hours ahead, i.e. at midnight it seemed to think it was 2.30am. scrolling through the guide was pitiful. in the end i had to be content without the tv altogether. i asked to see the ballroom, which the duty manager was pleased to show me. it stank of air-freshener which to my mind was to mask a worse smell of mustiness. the bed and linens were really comfoetable, and the en-suite was excellent. but you gotta do something about those wndows. i just don't buy that yiu can't do anything about it just because it's a listed building.

Very central with extremely friendly staff . My room has recently been refurbished . The corridors require an update . Would recommend staying

Stayed for two days, pleasant hotel, old with character. not too expensive. Enjoyable stay but in the hot weather air conditioning would have been nice. Overall, good experience, and I've already booked another stay.

Good hotel - walkable in the town center - no Aircon and it gets hot in the summer. Nice places to eat nearby. Quaint and lovely.

Staff really nice but can be difficult to get their attention. Mould on my room ceiling with no window that would stay open on a hot week with someone that has asthma. Also couldn’t fit in the shower

We only stayed overnight, staff were friendly and room was good . Convenient for our use.

Acceptable stay. friendly staff. Room basic but fine. Corridors tired. Fit for our needs. will stay again for family get together. limited food for meals, did not have breakfast which was offered.

Came for a family funeral, but have stayed here before, it’s convenient for town centre shopping. Parking is a little frustrating as you have to park in Asda car park, so depending on what time you check in it can be a little busy, but really nice rooms, and breakfast was good.

Friendly front of house… but she was front of house, waitress’, bar maid.. etc etc so service was slow… to the point I left and went elsewhere for food and drinks Hotel it’s self is a little tired and rooms are not sound proof !!!
