Two nights for short stay, the hotel has great location and staff are very nice. The room is spacious and comfortable. It will be a bit better if the breakfast can be improved.

The biggest issues with this hotel were the heat, the unhelpful staff, and how run-down everything felt. There is no AC, and the rooms were actually significantly hotter than it was outside, even with the windows open and the provided fan running. The fan also shuts off on its own after a while, and because you have to leave the windows open for any airflow, you can’t use the blackout curtains, so you’re awake as soon as the sun comes up. To make matters worse, our windows were directly next to a pigeon nest. The pigeons repeatedly tried to fly into the room, and starting around 4 a.m. they were flapping and making so much noise that sleeping was impossible. Closing the curtains to keep them out also blocked the airflow, making the room unbearably hot again. When we brought these issues to the staff, they showed little interest in helping or finding a solution. Reception also has very limited hours, making it difficult to get assistance when you actually need it. We were booked for two nights but left after one because we couldn’t face another sleepless night. The rest of the hotel didn’t improve the experience. The beds were hard, the pillow was flat, the sheets were scratchy, and the shower constantly swung between freezing cold and scalding hot. I also wasn’t comfortable with the key system, which requires guests to leave their room key on a public board whenever they leave the hotel. Overall, we cut our stay short because it was simply too uncomfortable.

Otel cok merkezi bir konumda fakat havalandirma yeterli degil. AC yok diye dusundum cunku odaya ekstra iki tane vantilator koymuslardi. Odadaki AC yi acmak bir ise yaramadi. Neyse ki cok sicak degildi ve 1 gece icin idare edebildik. Genel anlamda temizdi ve personel yardimci oldu.

Perfect located, Hotel California provides full array of options when visiting Zurich. Great professionalism, high hospitality, all hotels personal accommodated us perfectly.

Awesome location within walking distance of all the sites. When you leave out the front of the hotel you are right by the Limmat river and also a few minutes walk to the Grossmunster cathedral. A restaurant is on the 1st floor and the lobby and rooms start on the 2nd floor. You can either take the stairs up or there is an elevator at the back of the restaurant. Also highly recommend taking the train from the main Zurich train station to Uetilberg. There are amazing views of the Alps here and it’s only about a 20 minute train ride away. Trains leave every 20 minutes.

This place is as central in Zurich as it gets. You do not need a car to discover the city - you step out of Hotel California and your are in the middle of downtown Zurich. Clean, perfect location - highly recommended!
