Our rooms looked nothing like the photo’s on here. The carpets had huge stains on them and the furniture was dated and beat up. Our window would not open and the frame was rotting. Our bathroom was dark and the shower would sporadically turn burning hot to freezing cold. The women’s toilets in the bar area had multiple out of order signs on the doors and the one I was able to use had a huge hole in the wall where tiles were missing and broken. The whole place has seen better days! In addition, the staff seemed irritated when we arrived and were quite rude to use and other members of our group (there were 23 of us). The only positives were the breakfast and the location.

Please note that if you stay at this hotel on a Friday or Saturday night, it will be very noisy. Music is played until 1am, so it’s difficult to get any sleep before then. The general cleanliness is acceptable, but there was some mould in the bathroom and the window blind was broken. It’s fine as a basic place to stay, but if you’re hoping for a good night’s sleep, this may not be the best choice.

I felt like I was staying at Fawlty Towers. The shower would sporadically go from boiling hot to freezing cold, there were fixtures hanging off walls and doors, holes in the walls, rotten wooden window frames, windows that wouldn’t open and the staff were quite rude. They also managed to lose a piece of luggage we accidentally left behind. We went back to get it a few hours after we checked out and they couldn’t find it. The manager pretty much blamed us for leaving it in the first place! Thankfully, we were only staying one night.

Well located hotel. Just off the high street with a large car park. Value for money food offering.

A super location for our trip. Rooms are typically small for a pub hotel. Dedicated car park was great

Central to town. Clean room , comfy beds. Unfortunately there was a DJ from 22.00-00.00 which we did know about .

The room was in very poor decorative order: paint scuffed and badly chipped, windows didn’t open and room needed airing, wires hanging from tv with tape around them. The corridors were the same

Room was lovely and clean. Could do with a lick of paint. Lovely comfy bed.

Staying away a lot as an engineer. The food was great, prices reasonable. Room was clean and tidy. I would stay there again.
