Our room was nice with a warm, old - fashioned charm. The bed was comfortable and the layout in the room was perfect. We enjoyed the friendly staff and breakfast. The location was perfect and walkable.

Clean bedroom with styled rooms fitting with Durham's history. Food was beautiful at breakfast and staff were attentive. My partner has celiac and was well catered for his gluten free needs. Lovely late check out as standard. Will visit again

Small room

Check in was a bit slow but everything else was excellent. Great location. Good breakfast. The building itself is really interesting

Easy check in, comfortable bed in a quiet room, beautiful old building well converted into a nice hotel.

Warm, friendly greeting at reception on arrival. Parking onsite but would also be great if the hotel offered free or discounted parking. Spotlessly clean and comfortable room with high quality toiletries and complimentary minibar items. Stunning hallway, bar and restaurant. Welcoming and friendly staff in the bar and at breakfast. Plenty options at breakfast from the cold buffet and cooked to order options on offer but full cooked breakfast was tasty but not at the level expected when in a Marco Pierre White restaurant. Eggs Benedict on the day before was much better. All in all, a beautiful, comfortable and welcoming hotel. Would definitely stay here again/recommend to anyone coming to the area

Staff very friendly and helpful. Slight mistake when checking in but this was resolved with no fuss. Hotel is excellently located and wonderful big rooms with plenty of character and no noise at all overnight.
