Bed was warm and comfy, Art Deco?? Very disappointing

This looked nothing like the photos. It was dark, dingy, dirty and horrible. The view was of the rubbish skips. The bathroom window on the ground floor was transparent- full outside view of toilet and shower. Property was in need of repair. It smelt, was poorly, was noisy. We couldn’t stay, had to find alternate accommodation but did not receive a refund. Would Definately not recommend.

Its a beautiful art deco hotel. But.... Unfortunately. The shower was cold, due to no hot water even after letting it run for 10 mins. They really need to fix it

Property was not presented as advertised. Very run down. We didn't stay the 2 nights that we had booked. Staff wouldn't respond to our bell at reception. Very disappointed.

The property was a short, 15 minutes walk into the main street area. The room was large and comfortable. The availble channels on the TV were poor (not their fault). The only criticism would be the water pressure in the bath and shower were low and the bath towels were small. Overall a very nice stay

A nice place with easy parking out the back. Excellent value for the money. Would definitely stay again.

I was quite happy with the hotel, room was cleaned. They provided with all basics need like towels, coffee, tea, milk, biscuits, kettle, soap, conditioner but not shampoo maybe they forgot, lotion, shower cap. They have a room for the guests with toaster and microwave so we can have breakfast in here instead in the room. As an old building no soundproofing so we still could hear people talking, I could quite understand. Lovely art deco building surrounding with beautiful trees. I could hear Cookobura and others bird singing. Walking distance to lake Sambell and the town. Asylum just nearby if interested joining a ghost tour. We have heater in the room.

Our stay was extremely disappointing and uncomfortable. The rooms were very dirty, and the carpet had a strong, unpleasant smell. There was a constant bad odor throughout the room, and the bathroom did not even have an exhaust, making it worse. We had booked for two nights but had to leave on the second night because we couldn’t sleep at all. The overall atmosphere of the hotel felt very negative — we felt uneasy, scared, and uncomfortable throughout the night. The building itself is very old (around 90 years) and was originally used as nurses’ quarters within the Mayday Hills compound. The nearby asylum, where ghost tours are conducted, added to the eerie feeling. From the moment we entered the gates, the place felt unsettling. While the location is convenient and close to the town centre, the overall experience was terrible. We would not recommend staying here.

Staff very friendly clean rooms will stay again

No air conditioning in the rooms, very basic. Did not like the camera’s / alarm sensors in the bathroom was a bit weird. Makes you wonder if they are watching you in the bathroom.

Potentially an exciting and elegant hotel Of course renovations to be done but it will be magnificent Staff could not have been more helpful and respectful Loved it Peaceful and convenient Will stay again

Air cond worked very well , good unit , very quiet

Yes we wished we had stayed longer & made use more of the nearby walk trails. The fans in the room kept it very cool.

Room was good and great Shining vibe to hotel - however aircon through hotel apparently not repaired since owners took over. Fans ottered on a 36 degree day didn't really cut it. Fix advertising maybe... 201

Perfect for what we needed which was a bed to sleep in with the car very close

Motel is a 5 minute drive from the centre of town, surrounded by trees. The staff were friendly, polite and professional. The art deco vibe in the common areas of the motel is great. My room was clean, tidy, quiet and fairly basic. I would stay here again.
