Lovely, warm welcome. Helpful staff, delicious dinner and breakfast, thoughtful extras- a welcome note in our room from the housekeeping staff, good quality toiletries, a complimentary g@t for mums on Mother’s Day. Staff also willing to think about and respect my wish to not be referred to as a “guy” NB By way of explanation for anyone who may be wondering about this … Although “guys” is often considered and said to be a generic term, it isn’t! It is masculine. It’s no more generic than the use of the term “girls or women” would be. And, its frequent use to address females as “guys” renders us, the feminine, invisible; something that some of us have long sought to address in language. Thank you to the Archangel staff for being open minded and fair.

There are lots of shops in either direction towards the river or up to older streets with lots of independent shoos

Room was nice needs a bit of updating ie painting staff were nice and friendly breakfast was nice my only complaint was we were eating our porridge then our cooked breakfast came out before we had finished the porridge and was left on our table so went cold and bowls were not cleared away its a shame has food was lovely.

Room was clean. Bar staff were extra extra helpful and friendly.

Stayed in room 5 which was gorgeous. A lovely room in a really nice hotel. Staff were great and i would stay again in a flash!

What a great place. Will definitely be visiting again. Lovely room, nice pub, log fire, good food deals, great location, lovely breakfast, dog friendly & staff were amazing. They have got it all just right.

Great place, friendly and helpful staff, good food and range of drinks. No local corner shop or anything that I found.

Tiny room right at tge top of loads of stairs. Felt like flowers in the attic. Im not tall but had to stoop, room fit for a borrower. Bath right in middle of the room,with no shower. Quirky but as i stayed with my daughter not really appropriate to start washing bits and pits. Over all staff were quite friendly but wouldnt stay again, expected an angel in room(showed on sight? )HOWEVER NO ANGELS 😞

Okay stay

Attic room, was nice, however not so great if you are tall. Even at 5ft 8, and partner 6ft 3 spent alot of time bent over avoiding hitting our heads. Bath was spectacular! Room was warm, and restrictors on the windows, so unable to get any air flow. Bed very comfy! Cafetiere and Illy coffee was a lovely touch Was a bit disappointed breakfast was included, but had to.pay extra £4 each for a full english. Food was good though. Staff super lovely.

I really liked the room and bathroom, especially the bath. However I had maybe three lightbulbs that worked which is a shame. I'd have given five stars otherwise

Very noisy pub below. Not a peaceful stay. Hen do’s/stag do’s in the pub all weekend
