It takes about 30 minutes by bus from Kyoto Station and Kyoto's main attractions, but it was worth it! The place was beautiful, and we got to experience authentic tatami rooms. The staff (and owner, I think) were all helpful, nice, and understanding. We were able to send our luggage to the hotel, and they kept it organized in our room. We love our experience here. The garden was beautiful, the bathroom was bigger than average for Japan hotels, and it was very close to the bus stop, so walking was not really an issue. We booked three rooms, and we all have the same amazing experience. The only downside was the trip to get there and that there was no way of contacting the hotel before our stay.
