Great stay for travel with work

Similar stay to usual. Very clean room and helpful staff.

Second time staying. Great location, lovely room, very clean and very comfy bed! Will be back!

Basic double was fine. Everything we needed. Great location and plenty of breakfast options in town. Historic property so expect winding stairs and tight corners that comes with character. Only niggle was the heat of the room - but a fan was provided for the room if wanted. Great to have a parking option too in the middle of Exeter. Would stay again.

Great for a nights stay in the heart of Exeter. Clean, tidy, on site parking for £10 a night (car can stay until 2pm) Very old building so bit of a maze but that’s part of its charm. No AC so would be hot in summer.

Great stay here at this exceptionally well located hotel / Pub in Exeter. Friendly staff great pub and lovely food. Will absolutely return next time we are over in Exeter

Good location. Tired property which felt just about clean in the room and bathroom. The bedding was very clean.

Perfectly adequate for a 1 night stop. Location was good, right in the centre. We arrived about 4.30pm and there were only 2 parking spaces left. Room was good, clean and spacious. Not a fan of shower curtains over a bath, would prefer a screen. Our main gripe was this is a Marston's Inn, a company renowned for it's real ale. We were going to eat in the restaurant around 7.30 on a Friday night but were told that there was no ale on at the pumps, only lager. Not even a decent bottled beer either! Did that mean they would have no ale on all weekend? Not good enough Marstons! We did have a cooked breakfast the following morning which was good but had to wait a good 20 minutes for this and there weren't that many people having breakfast. Overall a perfectly good place to stay in Exeter.

Hotel was a good location, however double charged me for my stay. The initial quote was given however have seen they have charged me double the amount stated. Room did not have any amenities, kettle dirty, no bottled water, heating didn't work. Shower dirty.

Excellent. Nice room. Good size. Good location. There was a problem with the tub. It was sorted straight away. I was given a different room. The breakfast was good value. I enjoyed the dinner I had there.

Room and reception were great breakfast was okey.

The room was clean, but the shower is unsafe. The temperature changes quickly from warm to scalding hot to freezing cold

Comfy bed, hot shower, friendly staff, well located ….. all important boxes ticked, would happily stay again if need to overnight in the city

I booked a small room for one night. I arrived half an hour early but wasn’t able to check in until the check in time of 2pm. Not sure if that’s because my room wasn’t ready or whether it’s strictly 2pm. Room 2 was clean and had everything I needed although I could hear the kitchen fans quite loudly until they went off around 10.30pm. It’s quite a labyrinth to get to rooms. Some clear signage pointing you in the right direction. There is some when you get near the rooms, but maybe some before then would be helpful. Onsite parking at £10 for 24 hours was good

Lovely very clean room in the older part of the property, with nice natural light in the bathroom from the window in there. There are decent size television screens in the rooms in this hotel, however after a lot of time spent checking connections, aerial connection in room and trying to auto connect channels, it was impossible to get just normal BBC channels 1 and 2 at all. Couldn't see ITV either, picture and sound scrambled. Had to stream on my small phone screen to get ANY in room entertainment which was disappointing.

The food and accomodation was excellent.

Cromwell room was excellent.
