The inn is lovely, perfect location, great staff, good food, free parking on the road, wonderfully comfy bed and great bathroom… but beware of room 7 with a sea view.. on the second floor up steep steps but the reason for the 3 star rating is that you will constantly hear the water pump every time anyone in the hotel uses a drop of water. ALL NIGHT LONG! Very hard to sleep or stay asleep when is constantly starting up close by the bed. Were exhausted the next day, so glad we only stayed one night. The water pressure on the second floor is fab…but the noise from the pump really is annoying. The hotel only has an emergency contact number and no overnight staff so by 11pm when you realise that the pump is going to be jolting you awake regularly there is no one that can help.

Beach view. Big bed and separate room for the kids. Clean. A little tired in places but very clean.

We had a nice view overlooking the river and the room whilst in need of some redecorating in some areas was clean and comfortable.

this was a very lovely property to stay at overnight as part of a 5 week Irl. / UK trip. Extremely comfortable & welcoming. Stairs were a bit of a struggle, but staff did offer to assist with bags

Friendly and helpful staff, nice clean large bedroom with stunning views over the harbour. Very comfortable bed , lovely breakfast. A very enjoyable stay.

There is no parking on site like website states. If you can park across from the Inn it is free. There is a big public car park near the beach which is park and pay. We had a nice Sea View room. Room could benefit having a sofa.

Always like to stay in the Dovey.Staff make it a better holiday.

The staff were excepted I couldn’t fault the manager for how hard we worked to solve the problem with the super loud aircon unit. However, this is a Marston’s owned chain so everything about it is cheap except the price. Cold shower, stuffy room, tired fittings. But….comfy bed and super location. So it’s not all doom and gloom.

Staff were fantastic!

Stayed here for a weekend event at the Talyllyn Railway in Tywyn - chosen as it was close to the station and other amenities. Had a pleasant stay, no noise from bar other than some rowdy guest arriving early morning for a few minutes. Lovely view of the beach, close to cafes and shops. Short walk to the beach and not too far for the train station. Only issue was the shower being too hot with no obvious way to cool the temperature, AC in room was a little noisy at random times - but I got used to this on second night. Overall a pleasant stay.

The hotel is a fully functional pub and hotel. This was not a problem for me. Clean room, friendly staff, comfortable bed and a great view from my window over a beautiful coastal bay. The only issue I had was that the shower temperature was difficult to control.
