Beautiful hotel set in an old style colonial property. Close to historic centre. We had a lovely stay and were looked after well by the staff however the experience of others in our group was not positive (cockroach in room and issue required a battle to resolve). Breakfast options were limited. Bathrooms in some rooms had a foul smell as poor ventilation.

The hotel was amazing. The hotel owners (Oswaldo and his wife) were so very kind and they tended to our every need. The excursions which they provide are very helpful and when we need help they provide us with it very well.

This was an amazing place to stay!! The history of the building was worth the stay itself, but it was clean and quiet. The managers made us feel like family!

My 5 stars are sincere. If I'm lucky enough to be able to return to Quito I would stay here again without hesitation. The location is excellent, directly between Plaza Grande and La Basilica, the colonial building is very nicely restored, the room was comfortable, and the staff was extremely kind and attentive. As an independent hotel, it was abundantly clear that they were doing all they could to give guests the best possible experience. Hands-down the best stay we had on our 2 week trip in Colombia and Ecuador.

This is an incredibly charming hotel. Each room is creatively and uniquely decorated. The staff treated us like family, calling us by our first names each time they saw us. Breakfast is wonderful, as is the customer service. There was not a single thing that wasn't first rate. I highly recommend the Hotel La Basílica, and if we ever return to Quito, this will be where we stay. Special shout-out to Media, Josalie and Byron.

Nice small hotel near to the centre of town. The airport collection and return was very efficient and well managed. The rooms are clean and spacious. The owner is nice and friendly and can offer suggestions for things to do.

The hotel is located in the historic center so walkable to all the sites. It's a lovely hotel and the rooms are large. The service is exceptional! Everyone was so friendly and helpful. I would absolutely stay here again.

Great location. Safe courtyard to spend evenings and for breakfast. Central in the old town and safe area in the day. Big rooms. Lovely breakfast. Reliable airport pick up even though our flight was 2 hours late at 2am.

Very beautiful hotel in downtown old Quito. We walked around to the churches and palace. We found great restaurants for lunch and dinner. Hotel La Basílica provides an excellent breakfast. The owner greats all guests and helps make any arrangements for transportation and tours. Much better service than we have received at chain hotels. The owner and staff genuinely care about their guests having a great experience.

This place is a gem! Right from the communication to transport arrangements the staff went above and beyond in every aspect and the hotel itself is a beautiful charming Colonial masterpiece. Loved it!

A beautiful historic hotel, with courtyard where they served a lovely full breakfast, including eggs to order. The location was perfect very close to the historic center. I would advise not staying many blocks more away from the historic center as the neighbourhood changes, but we felt very safe in the day time (with reasonable precautions not flashing wealth). The hotel arranged a reliable car service although the driver changed the price at drop off wanting an extra 10$ - they were there when we arrived & brought us without incident. The workers tried to be friendly & helpful. We were woken up by gunshots in the night in the distance many times, but that would be for any hotels in the area.

Very frendly atmosphere, excellent service, delicious breakfast and best location into the old city.
