Even though I stayed for two nights my room was not cleaned I had to get my own supplies to somehow cleaned it, unfortunately I didn't bring a vacuum so I can vacuumed the floor. On the second day I returned to the room by 5 pm and house keeping has not shown or was not going to show. It seems that 11 years later the hotel has not changed.

I would strongly recommend staying away from this hotel. It is extremely old, poorly maintained, and has a very unpleasant smell throughout. My first impression was the entrance door handle, which was visibly dirty and smelled bad. The receptionist, lady with white hair was also extremely rude and unwelcoming. The room furniture was outdated and had a musty smell. The windows could not be opened, so there was no way to let in fresh air. The bathroom fan was extremely old and made a loud noise like a tractor, yet it still did not circulate the air properly. The shower was worn out, and the fridge in the room was dirty. Breakfast was supposedly included and advertised as a continental breakfast, but it consisted mainly of old-looking bread in plastic bags and muffins that did not appear fresh. The coffee machine was out of order, and the toaster was very old, rusty, extremely dirty, and did not work. This hotel is seriously overpriced for what it offers. The condition, cleanliness, service, and breakfast were all unacceptable. It felt like a complete waste of money. Stay far away from this hotel.

The building is an historic building right in the hart of the downtown. Very convenient to walk to shops, restaurants, and close to beaches. Old building so it needs some updating (carpets & bathrooms). Young girl at the counter was very friendly and allowed us to check in a bit early. Stayed just for one night, and considering location and price we would stay again.

Staff are alway pleasant and helpful however we had to get them to bring in a small fridge and there was no remote to operate the tv, which we only wanted to use to check on the weather. Carpets could use a thorough steam clean.

This is the worst hotel in Goderich. It's so dirty. Just because it's old doesn't mean it has to be dirty. Not one time besides checking in did someone at the front desk say anything to my whole family. The Continental breakfast. Um I wouldn't call coffee and muffins and a loaf of wonder bread a Continental breakfast. That poor building was probably so beautiful at one point. Whoever ownes it now. Has ruined its integrity. If I could give this minus stars I would. If you like the movie the shining without being scared you might like this place. No I wouldn't go back or recommend.

The hotel was clean, the bed was comfortable, the AC and the TV worked good. The hotel its self is aged and that can be seen in the rooms. But we knew that going in and for a place to sleep it was good. The hotel is also conveniently located in the centre of town and there is lots of parking.

Parking was perfect and free . Room was very clean and friendly staff . Talked with the lady at the front desk about the history of the hotel building. Loved the staircase very unique and different. Definitely would stay again

The hotel is conveniently located in the town square. Its appeal is excellent however the interior is dated and requires updating. Firstly, this is a 3 story building. There is no elevator. If staying on 2nd or third floor, climbing those stairs for anyone with a disability, elderly or simply out of shape could be a problem. Rooms were as clean as they could be however carpet and bathroom needs updating/replacing along with rooms interior design. The King bed’s mattress was uncomfortable and definitely in need of replacement. The staff was friendly and accommodating and no issues with parking. I believe 3.5 stars would be the overall rating.

Had a great time at the Bedford with my girlfriend. Bed was comfortable, room was clean and the location can’t be beat. The only improvement would be that the tiling could be cleaned a bit better in the bathrooms. Great hotel.

Really cool hotel- we spent 2 nights there in July. Loved the big staircase and the friendly staff!

Our room was spacious with two queen size beds. Hotel right on Main Street. We walked everywhere except ti the beach.Staff helpful and friendly. Only thing I might have done differently would be ti request room on second floor. Because two of us in seventies and was a bit of a trek but we just planned our day accordingly. Found out after we could have had same room on second floor. All in all was great!

Good location and walkable to other bars & restaurants

We enjoyed the proximity to the downtown area. Considering it is a very old building we understood why there was no elevator. What i thought could and should be improved is new cleaner carpet and drapes hung properly. These things would improve the overall look and feel.

It was a great experience to stay in such a historic building … loved the room … 207…window facing the town square..loved it
