Excellent customer service & staff very friendly

Checked out early after 1 night. A very old building so we understood it wasn't set up to deal with the extreme heatwave but very concerned with the access to the room. Extremely steep and winding stairs to our room with no handrail to assist and I worried how we would evacuate in case of emergency. Smokers gathered in the garden and smoke rose into our room. No staff on site overnight but all the garden lights left on so it was very difficult to sleep.

Large, clean and comfortable room with lux feeling en suite. Loved the breakfast hamper in the room.

We had such a wonderful time staying here. It’s the most beautiful property and the room was extremely well kept and cosy. The pub and gardens were great also. Would 1000% recommend

Frisch renoviertes, sehr gemütliches, sehr sauberes Zimmer mit tollem Bad untern Dach in sehr altem Pub. Zuwegung über alte Treppen im Hause etwas abenteuerlich. Die Frühstücksutensilien standen in einem Picknick-Korb im Zimmer bereit zur Selbstbedienung incl. kleinem Kühlschrank für Milch und Obst. Wir fanden's witzig. Beeindruckend: der Haushund Cyrus, ein grauer freundlicher Riese !

The kitchen was indefinitely closed so no evening meal or breakfast available. The room was nothing like the picture. I left without staying. Please organise a refund.

Lovely rustic pub / hotel. Room was great with the most comfortable bed I’ve slept in for some time. Kitchen was closed for refurbishment but only a short walk into the centre of the village. Good choice of cask ales in the bar. Will stop here again if work brings me back to the area

What a fantastic friendly pub / hotel, I would recommend you visit this place.

The room was very small (size of room is not included on details). There was nowhere for our bag other than the floor, space was limited. 2 bedside tables & coat hooks with coat hangers on. There was a broken bedside lamp, the toilet seat was loose & wonky, the bedknob kept falling off at the slightest touch, the Wi-Fi wasn't working on Sun morning. Other guests were in the bar til 1.30am, the noise travels quite considerably & when they went to bed at 1.30am, one of the men shouted, "Is anyone awake"- well we were! We were disappointed with the room for the price we paid, you expect better for over £170 a night (only £80 for the same room on the following Fri). We booked it as it had 10/10 good reviews, those people must've been in the huge bedrooms and not ours.

From the moment we walked in we felt very welcome by not only the staff but by the locals and were made to feel at home Our room “Dedham”was amazing,very clean and modern but still in keeping with the period of the pub. They had thought of all the facilities that we may need along with a varied selection of food and drink for breakfast . The bathroom was very impressive with an extra large bath and shower along with a great view of the church. We could not recommend this hotel more and shall be returning

Lovely friendly staff, working in a wonderful grade 2 listed building. Bedrooms are all beautifully decorated with extremely comfy beds and very cosy. All come with very handy fridges with fruit, fruit juice and milk also a very well stocked hamper greets you with muffins, biscuits, oats and cutlery. This is our fifth or sixth stay, which normally ends up with us booking another night or two!!! The young lady housekeeper is always so happy to help and makes sure we’re stocked up when we do end up booking another night. We’re big fans!

Ideal room for business stop over. Disappointed that there was no kitchen, but there was an ample 'room hamper & fridge full of breakfast & snacks

The room was an unexpected delight so many thoughtful things - the breakfast hamper, drinks and snacks in the fridge. The quality of the products in the room was excellent.

Rooms are beautifully decorated and cosy. The beds are lovely and comfy. Staff are extremely helpful and friendly especially the house keeper. Would highly recommend this place
