Very lovely old home. But as far as I could tell there was only one employee. Absolutely no one else to be seen anywhere. She checks you in, She is the only waitress there to serve you dinner. No one is anywhere to be found if you come down at 7 AM. I hope she doesn't also have to clean the rooms and remake the beds. She is very nice and I certainly hope she is being paid enough - because it looks like she has to do it all. Whoever makes the beds doesn't know how to make them because I had to redo it. In fact it was so sloppy I was afraid that the sheets were never changed and that I was sleeping in a bed that someone else had slept in. Otherwise, it is a charming old Victorian. The restaurant food was very basic but good.

This location was great and the room was adequate but needed a little maintenance (peeling wallpaper, blinds that didn’t have an opening wand). Overall I would stay there again.

This inn is fine. The rooms are relatively clean. The curtains in the room did not close - they’re essentially permanently pinned open. The rooms do not have a lot of outlets or charging areas. Bed felt quite old and sunken in. Breakfast is not included, which was not specified. It also takes a long time to be ready - over an hour.

Stayed there for 5 nights. We had a wonderful experience and can't say enough about the facility and the warm friendly staff, that includes the owner. They go above and beyond. Would absolutely recommend Marshlands to anyone who desires a truly, unique, welcoming, special experience. B.Arrowsmith

Marshland is lovely historical building filled with charm and warmth. It's like stepping back a little in time. Staff are friendly and the restaurant offered a great breakfast menu, with our meals being delicious and very well priced. I would not hesitate to recommend it.

Very well kept and charismatic inn with lots of period furniture and personality. Food was excellent and the owner was very hospitable and kind, even serving chowder after hours as most restaurants in town were closed. Great quality food.

It is an old Victorian Mansion and if you like that type of hotel, this is the perfect place. The outside is a bit run down but the rooms are what you can expect in a Victorian Mansion, they are clean and full of small surprises in decorations.

Historic Inn with nice grounds and easy parking.

Sign by dining room listed its hours of operation for all 3 daily meals, but when we came by for dinner well within the listed time frame, there was literally nobody around anywhere. There was no indication that it might only be certain days or by reservation only, in fact it's listed as a full public restaurant on their website, with public menu visible, we'd even planned what we wanted to order. And it was a Friday night, so even if they were only open some days, surely they'd be open for dinner Fridays! Staff was friendly but scattered. Room was small but comfortable. The beautiful antique styles of the main house are far less so in the carriage house so that was a little disappointing. The toilet in our bathroom was huge and ancient and was constantly running until I fixed it myself. Price was very reasonable. Be aware - there's a train that runs nearby and the whistle is very noisy. This is not the fault of the owners of course, but something to be aware of for light sleepers.

Great location to stay while visiting the university. Everything is walkable

Very disappointing. Needs to be updated, especially plumbing and wiring. Hotel trying to live on past glories. Fawlty Towers without the comedy.

Room was perfect, bed is so comfortable. Very homey feeling and very quiet. Had my own private bathroom across the hall which I didn't mind as I have no one staying on my floor. Second time staying here and this time in the main house which is stunning. Fast and easy check in which is nice. And staff very friendly. Highly recommed staying here.

A lovely place to stay when I am in Sackville

We were in town to tour Mount Allison and wanted to stay overnight. The Marshlands Inn provided a comfortable place to stay and enjoy the East Coast hospitality. The place is large century property with beautiful gardens, lots and lots of knick-knacks but the amenities were everything you'd expect and more.
